Found videos by VisualSound, comparing distortion, overdrive, chorus and more pedal shootouts. Think some of you might find it useful. And kind of surprising as well.

Only watched the Octave Fuzz one.

So they compared A/B (B won), B/C (C won), C/D (D won). The first pedal always loses. Wonder if they did another comparison with D/A if A would win. LOL.

I happened to see these vids recently as well. One flaw of this comparison is that we wouldn't know if each pedal is tuned to its "best" settings. Hence, can't really conclude that one pedal is better than the other just because it sounds better in the shoot-out.

But still it got me interested in the Son of Hyde. :)

These guys also did a myth-buster thingy on true-bypass. Check out the vid ;)

The distortion video is so fun. Ya, I agree with backpacker. And sometimes, we play other stuff.. a weaker sound maybe sound better.. hahas.. MT2 sound too noisy for me..

Does the name R.G. Keen ring a bell to anyone? He is considered to be the "founding father of boutique industries". He is a chief engineer at Visual Sounds. I don't think he would risk his reputation if those videos are considered non-sense.

Fulltone, Keeley, RMC and other boutique builders are just a few of those who benefited from his knowledge.

Below is a link on some discussions and opinions about the shootout. theblueark also chimed in on the discussion.
