I'll break the mould and post one entire album:
Nocturnus - The Key.
Nocturnus were years ahead of their time when they released this debut (1990 on Earache I think). I was listening to it last night and I am still blown away by the shred mastery, the inhumanly fast and off-the-wall original riffs, twin guitar interplay of licks and solos, pounding heaviness (though bass and drums not brilliantly produced) and weirdo synth parts. To date, I can't think of one album that has surpassed it - not one. And I own a lot. One drawback - the vocals on this album suck and the lyrics are stupid (but then, whoever cares what happens in DM lyrics?

You MUST own this album if you love shred, ridiculously complex thrash/death metal riffing at hyper speed and raw in-your-face guitar tones.

Unfortunately, it isn't easy to get. Nocturnus were dropped by Earache after their sucky 2nd album (they expended ALL their creative juices and shred energy on The Key in a Herculaean effort). The Key was deleted and unavailable for a number of years until a limited "Earcahe Classic" re-issue run. Some used on Amazon and e-Bay.
