An interesting thread. A fine line between Life or Death..
18 January 2008, a day dat I'll remember forever. Etched in my head, can never be forgotten.
2000hrs to 2200hrs: Jamming with my band as usual.
2205hrs: Got a call from one of my Kakis," Hey bro, wanna meet up at JB Singgah Selalu for supper?" I agree. "On ur way here, could U pick up our friend who's at Clementi? I agree too.
2215: Picked up my friend at clementi.
2230: Reached Woodlands Checkpoint. Heavy congestion.. DAMN HOT too.. Both of us sang a few song to cheer ourselves up and forget the heat. Nearly got heatstroke hor.
2300: Finally clear Woodlands Checkpoint... Vrrooomm all the way to JB checkpoint. Another 15mins of queueing.. As usual,JB customs opened only two booths for that nite. Long queue again.. Can't wait to gooble up those sumptuous Burger Ramli.
2320: Finally!! Cleared.. Full speed ahead!!
2322: Lots of heavy vehicle just after JB Checkpoint. Especially buses and lorries. Swerve here, swerve there (Not Mat rempit ah)..
2325: CRASHHHH!!! BOOOMM!!! BANG!!!! ARGHH!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!
2326: Without any warning, something knocked on the left side of my bike. DAMN!! Couldn't control it. My pillion friend was shouting on the top of her lungs. It was pandemonic and chaotic. To my horror, I found my bike trapped under a HUGE M'sia express Bus.. Its a D*L*MA Express bus.. DAMN!! The bus driver didn't see us down here.. I'm being dragged on the road for abt 20meters with my pillion on it. We shouted but to no avail. Its like an elephant dragging a mouse on its feet..Luckily, behind us there were lots of other M'sian Motorbikes that witnessed the horror. They horned in unison. One of the brave ones, overtake the bus and signalled the bus driver that he had "stowaways" trapped underneath his bus. It all happened so fast but to both of us, its like a never ending nightmare.
As I was lying down on my back with my Bike pinning me, I saw my whole world flashed past. I couldn't feel any pain yet as I did not know the extend of the damage. My first priority was the condition of my pillion. That's all. I kept thinking abt her injuries.. Was she ok, was she concious, how to answer her parents wbt this, etc etc. Bystanders helped us to our feet as I was to weak to standup by myself. Till now, I do not know those helpful Samaritans. Luckily, my HP was intact and I made a call to my friends who were already at Singgah Selalu. They rushed down immediately and I was taken to the nearby Hospital for medical aid..
We waited for nearly 2hrs for our turned to be treated and by then I the pain was unbearable.. Blood was trickling down my injured ankle. I could see the bone actually..UWARGH!! Whats more surprising and disappointing was the way we were treated. They just washed away the blood and gave me an injection for infection purposes and DATS it!! No bandaging, no X-ray..
When I asked the medic abt the whole procedure, he simply replied, "Dats the way we treat abrasions and wounds for motorcycle accidents. Just let the wound dry and U'll be as good as new." WOW!! Wat an answer.
After the whole ordeal, went to make a police report at JB Police Station. We decided to returned back to Singapore for further treatment. Reached Alexandra Hospital AE dept and was given intensive treament.
My injuries:
My ankle was badly injured. Couldn't walked properly for a week..
Damage to my bike:
New racing exhaust!!
