your first flying-v

i want to get a flying-v after my exams, and i wanna know what you guys thought when you bought your first flying v. Like for example: happy? needed adjusting? should've gotten an SG instead?

if i got my first flying v id be the happiest kid.but it must be made of mahogany and set neck la.

i was craving for one. and still yet to get it. having a tight budget currently.
got a schecter damien with EMGhz and FR instead.
well , i'd still continue craving for one.
sometimes i need it real bad. =x

the V is the least appealing shape to me because it is really cumbersome when played sitting down. however, i value the playability & tone of a guitar more than its outline, so i got this for myself:

i'm waiting for my ESP too (from Davis), but not a V-type guitar...

try grassroots.they got gibson flying v copies.cheap good and nice.

meh i dont want copies, i want the real thing, so because im not rich i get the cheap ones, BUT REAL. SG's and Les Pauls are for epiphone and Gibson. "metal" guitars are for Esp and LTD...

if i want a certain shape I go to the "original" manufacturer, hence if I want an SG i buy an epiphone or Gibson SG, not some ESP guitar that looks like an SG

it MAY be a problem if you practise sitting down....but i got used to it, but it definately won't be as comfy as a strat....


but i do feel more "free" when playing my RR while standing.....i guess since there's less body i feel like moving around more..

Dunno the fascinations about the V though... If Ibanez has a V copy, with Wizard neck, set bridge, dual emg active pups, HELL YEAH!!!

ah... the more outgoing shapes are certainly the pallette of BC Rich & ESP. as for guitars in general, if one deems a certain guitar good for the applications, then it's game.

single coils certainly aren't the preferred units for all-out gain/ drive; the reason i have a humbucker (bridge) in my tele.
