Yellowcard: Only One intro

Hey do anyone of you know what sort of pedals or effects Yellowcard used in the introduction for Only One? Every tab that i have come across insists that it's a guitar duet, but the thing is during live performances there's only one guy plucking. I'm curious as this effect is able to create a harmonising note, sounds different than usual..

i'm guessing it's the super shifter(PS-5) by boss or something similar for the recent performances. the past ones were two guitars playing.

well, it's most probably a pitch shifter, octaver n stuff like that yea. but the thing is, for some notes played it sounds like the pitch is shifted 4 steps, n some is 5 steps, so can't really be too sure how they did that part.
