Hi all,

i am beginning to learn piano/keyboard and i am preparing to get Yamaha E413 for home pratice. Can anyone advise on where is a good place to get this model as i have checked Yamaha's website and they are retailing at near $500. As i have saw from other post that some of the member bought at a much lower price, need recommendation.

Also welcome if anyone have suggestion for alternative make/model at similar or lower price.

Thanks in advance.

For lower pricing, you'll really have to look for 2nd hand. You can't use a portable keyboard arranger (ie Yamaha PSR series) to learn piano. Depends what you want to achieve. You can learn to play simple tunes using arrangers, but for piano, you'll need at least weighted keys (or a real piano). That means it will not be in the budget you stated above.

www.luthermusic.com... definitely cheaper than yamaha shop. i bought my P85 from there. they have friendly salesperson and if u tell them what u want and they can explain clearly their products to u =P visit the website for more details.

Source: i bought P85 from there. my friend bought E413 from there.

i see, didnt rly know its not suitable for learning.. :(

well i'm a newbie as well and i have never touched keyboards in my life.

from what i see, it can be used to arrange backing music which is useful for jamming and creativity.

other then this psr 413, what other models can be recommended under the price range? the korg models seem really intricate and expensive...not something a beginner needs.

Casio CTK 3000. If you are going to use a DAW, then u will not need an onboard sequencer, etc. So PSR313 will do. Just make sure have velocity sensitive keys.
