Take Note Guys!

We went down to the Yamaha outlet at Sun Plaza, but were told they didn't have the forms and we had to go to the one at Plaza Sing. When we went to Plaza Sing, there was quite a wait (they were busy, I guess).

We thought that we could just fill in the forms and it'd be done, but then got a surprise when we found out that we had to include a couple of other stuff too.

So for all you budding bands out there, here's a heads up:

  1. Bring a passport size photo of ALL of your members
  2. You will also need to enclose the lyrics of the song you are going to perform
  3. If you band member is younger than 16, he/she needs to have parental consent
  4. Submission of registration can ONLY be done at Yamaha Plaza Sing

Hope to see you guys at the heats in Aug, and hoped this little post helped. (:

Oh, check us out at OUR MYSPACE too! Comments and critiques greatly appreciated! (:

Mexico just "joined" Asian Beat since 2008 (last year). Not sure what's the underlying reason of that but I think they wanna expand the range of the competition and make it bigger as years go by. For example, Japan was not part of the Grand Finals of Asian Beat last year (neither were they in the previous years' if Im not wrong) but they are now.

The "VS TOKYO SUMMIT" means that the finalists of "Asian Beat" (winners from each country excluding Japan) will have to compete against the finalists of "Tokyo Summit". That's what the organizers n Yamaha guys told us last year.

Good luck for all of you taking part in the competition!!! May the God of Rock be with y'all! Haha.

Cheers. :)

Anyone wanna hook up for this competition?

Am absolutely keen on doing this, if there's anyone willing to hook up to perform. I play the guitar - do play the electric, but prefer (and am far better at) the acoustic. Mainly soft rock / classic rock kind of music. Can also do fairly decent vocals (but would be best as a backup vocalist). Any lead vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers who don't have their own bands yet, wanna get together?

Hi All,
Please note that the "Free Registration" closing date is this coming Sunday (12/7/09). A $50.00 registration fees will be impose thereafter. Official closing date is 19/7/09. Don't miss this opportunity to represent Singapore in Japan.

My bandmates surprised me by telling me that we're taking part in this one, look forward to meeting everyone who're competing I guess.
