tremendous amount of showmanship and musicianship today.
pity the cover charge drew little crowd but i'm sure they got their money's worth.

It is gonna be a very tight finals. The finalists have a very complex mix of strength in each one of them:

1. The House of Anonymous - i can't comment.

2. Rockblasta - SHOWMANSHIP through and through! Probably sets the template as to what a PERFORMANCE should be like.

3. Hellven - Powerful technicalities and theatricals. Flair, finesse; the way Metal should be done.

4. MadHatter - Entertainment value as a pop unit. Got in cos they just SOUND so good together.

5. Monstar Phunk - Groooooovyyyyyy! Great vocalist and great band that SHOULD have regular slots at clubs!

6. Saywhale - The original song is as addictive as it can get. My drummer was singing the chorus while we were having supper after the event. That goes to show how great the song writing is, and how great it was executed by the great lineup.

7. Sketch - Ahhhh.. retro-ish, easy listening music done by very gifted musicians.

That was probably one of the best showcase of local music I have seen. For those who did not come, I must say that you missed out a great deal.

"How good were all the finalists" you asked? Well, EVERY band walked away with at least one prize for individual categories. Even after Psychadellic 4's guest performance, which stretched more than half an hour, the judges still needed more time to decide who are the big winners.

Congratulations to the top three winners. Biggest congratulations and utmost appreciation to Saywhale for letting our guitarist borrow your band's guitar. You guys are gonna be great representatives for Singapore in Taiwan. THOA is fully behind you (yes, Softies, they won).
