Y soft only rock musicians.Got classical musician or not???

Its not what kind of musician you are. Its how good and influential you are at it. Who cares if you play the bagpipes. But if you've got millions of people attending your concerts and billions buying your albums of "Bagpipe Sonata in F#" , then you've made it.

Sure you may be a certain type of musician, but so what?

classical violinist. finished all the exams and stuff already but no patience with people so i don't teach. playing guitar now for alt-rock band.

wait wait wait. basically ALL who take up piano takes it classically no?

've never heard of a pop piano, really.

so what's with the classical piano term?

erm... i think double blade mistook that only people who play classical pieces on conventional upright or grand pianos are considered classical pianists.

The term "classical pianist" refers to someone who has been taught the classical way and a "pop pianist" refers to someon who has been taught the contemperory way. The classical and contemperory way of teaching is completely differs from one another.

Chanmin : Opps...I guess I shouldn't have made that statement because they are definitely classical pianist around who play on electronic keyboards. Anyways what I meant is that other classical pianist around are making use of technology in a form of synths/keyboards to add some colour to their playing while I'm just stuck with the acoustic one....

Turbochicken : I would say that MOST who take up piano start off by learning classical techniques , hence the term classical pianist. Of course there are people who jump straight into pop piano. But most of them took classical first because if gives them a good foundation when venturing into other forms of playing like jazz and pop.

double,

seriously, there are only pianists and keyboardists.
thought you might wana know that. :)

and Chan, let's rest our case...

Somebody ;) .

Alright issue closed.

We're way off topic. This is just about who's more classically inclined in SOFT.
