WWE: Eddie Guerrero (1967 - 2005)

he was found in his hotel room on the floor holding a tootbrush. must've been a massive heart attack that got him instantly.

It's all part and parcel of the business. The companies take stars from each other all the time. Kevin Nash has star power, but he is notorious for being lazy in the ring.
As for the drugs, it's sad... either they turn to them when they have got rich and famous or in unknown circumstances... like Eddie who got addicted to pain killers while he was battling an injury near 2000/2001 I think... :(

Rey Mysterio noted the following on his website: I would like to ask everyone to please say a little prayer for Eddie and his family. He has been my true friend, my brother, and one of the best person I have ever known. Although, the last few times you've seen us in the ring together, it seems like we didn't see eye to eye. But once we got backstage, Eddie and I were like brothers. What you saw on TV was entertainment. Eddie was a good man, a loving husband and father. He has always been good to me and my family. My family and I, send our love to his wife Vickie and daughters Shaul, Sherilyn, and Kaylie Marie, and to all of Eddie's family and friends.... We love you!

Meanwhile, some "tasteless" comments has left someone in huge trouble.

Anthony P. Landrosh sent in the following letter to me. He said that he was listening to ESPN radio earlier today, "The Herd With Colin Cowherd", and Colin Cowherd said some rude comments about Eddie Guerrero's passing. He accused Eddie and other wrestlers of steroid use. Cowherd said, "who cares that he died" and that Guerrero's death was not "newsworthy." He also started speculation on the "unknown causes" of his death. Colin Cowherd has a subsite on ESPN.com.

Nate Dickey sent this: UPDATE: Please make another post informing the viewers that you can call ESPN at 860-766-2000. They can call, they will have to ask to speak to a customer service person, that way the voice of fans can be heard. Hopefully Colin the Coward Coherd will be fired. Thanks.

Latest : Michael Polzien notified me that the phone number to ESPN's customer service office as been disconnected. Apparently, they were getting thousands upon thousands of calls from angry wrestling fans. You guys definitely made your point. If you want to personally call them, try again tomorrow.

Funeral service for Eddie Guerrero will be held this Wednesday at 1:30PM, while most of the WWE Superstars will be in Europe for a loaded tour. Not all WWE Superstars went on the European tour which starts tomorrow in Italy, and the show, although will go on as scheduled, will not have all the advertised Superstars. They will mix in some RAW guys on the SmackDown! shows to equal the star power for the shows. Many are staying for the funeral and then they leave for the rest of the tour. Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit - two of Eddie's closest friends - flew with the body from Minneapolis. Superstar Billy Graham, who is a close friend of Guerrero as well and lives nearby in Phoenix, will be conducting the funeral service along with a friend at Billy Graham's church.

Molly Holly posted the following on Eddie Guerrero: I will miss Eddie very much. My favorite professional moment of his was his match with Rey Mysterio at the 1997 Halloween Havoc. A personal memory I will never forget, is one time on a tour bus overseas, he shared some Bible verses with me and we had a good discussion about life. I am so thankful I was able to know Eddie personally, and am especially thankful I got to give him a hug the night before he passed away. Nora Greenwald

New York Newsday has an interview up with WWE's John Bradshaw Layfield regarding the passing of Eddie Guerrero. In the article, JBL notes that Guerrero was a groomsman in his wedding earlier this year and how working with Guerrero was like being out there with "electricity."

Vince McMahon was on CNN earlier tonight to discuss the passing of Eddie Guerrero. Here is a brief recap of what went down. Thanks to Erik B. for passing this recap on. Just an FYI on the extent of the media coverage regarding Eddie's death. CNN has been mentioning Eddie's story each hour along with their daily headlines. Also, at 6:00pm/CT a live interview was conducted with Vince McMahon. Vince basically reiterated the comments he made about Eddie on the WWE press conference. The anchor-woman, (Brooke something or other) basically probed into the death asking questions related to the possibility that Eddie may have fallen back into drug abuse. Vince shot that idea down stating ..."Eddie was at the pinnacle of his career and had everything to live for..." and "...there are no signs that Eddie may have broken his sobriety.."

My friend(an idiot) just bet me a nice dinner on the fact that eddie died of a gunshot wound after hearing something on the radio yesterday.. I kept telling him it wasn't true but he doesn't believe me ... so i just won a small bet ...

used to see him all the time when dad-o used to watch when it was still known as WWF.

Didn't know his daughter has the same name as me. His kids are still so young!

R.I.P.

I'd say Brock Lesnar made a pretty good choice leaving the WWE.hehe. He was at the top and he was willing to give it up. Scott Steiner was fired cause he was injured as well. I cant blame wwe for letting go of injured wrestler, better they be let go now rather than something worse happens to them in the ring. I just feel like saying it haha, It would be great to see Batista against Brock Lesnar!!!
