WWE: Eddie Guerrero (1967 - 2005)

there goes another one of em.
Rest in peace amigo. You're one of my band's biggest influence.
One of the best wrestlers in the ring. Funny one too.

Viva La Raza! Adios

i read somewhere that he was battling depression due to work-related stress.

It sure is a stressful job, having to tour cities and states on a weekly basis, and having the body take that much punishment day in day out. Ain't an easy life to be a wrestling entertainer.

And not to mention the threat of younger and more "marketable" wrestlers like Batista, Orton, etc coming onto the scene... the older wrestlers pushing or already in their 40s like Guerrero, Benoit, Shawn Michaels. Undertaker, etc will sure feel the pressure to up their games and body in order to stay in the roster.

Anyone remember Test? Here's what he said about the death of Eddie and the use of steriods in the wrestling scene: Test homepage - Click here.

That's so sad. I use to be the biggest wrestling fan - I hated the Guerrero brothers while I was at it. Use to think they were so arrogant etc (even if it was all screened, I still managed to get pissed off haha). I can't believe he's gone. He made up a huge part of the WWE. R.I.P Eddie.

Test made some really good points there. Kinda feel guilty when u think bout it....Vince is so driven to deliver top notch wrestling entertainment to us..the fans..the wrestlers work doubly hard and take all those painkillers so that they can survive another week, just to keep their job. Who's next? :?

Test definitely made some valid points... You can sorta tell that he got ick of WWE's way of handling the wrestlers. You might be interested to get a hold of a wrestling-documentary called "Beyond The Mat" that features interviews with Mick Foley, Terry Funk and also Jake "The Snake" Roberts (who apparently was also struggling with some kinda addictions)... Some of these old geezers like Jake, Koko B. Ware, The Junkyard Dog are still wrestling in smaller circuits, cuz that is the only skill they know.

Alotta the stars like Christian (now known as Christian Cage), Jeff Hardy, the Dudley Boys (now Team 3D), Rhyno (now Rhyno), Diesel (Kevin Nash), etc had jumped ship to TNA Wrestling becuz they were either dumped from the WWE roster or got sick of Vince McMahon's way of doing things.

I think i watched 'Beyond the Mat' sometime ago on some channel... Jake the Snake's story is damn sad man. ATM's (test) comments on the WWE brings to lights some suspicions one might have about its management. It all makes sense right? How long does the WWE need an injured wrestler?
