Hi, I recently bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio from a Softie who had upgraded the stock pickups to EMG 81x and 85x active pickups.
But I'm a relative newbie, so I prefer the standard passive pickups to the active EMGx. Nothing wrong with the EMGx pickups, I just want to "roll-back" to stock.
If you have a Gibson Les Paul with the standard 490R & 498T Pickups that you are thinking to upgrade, maybe you might consider a one-for-one swop of the Pickups and Pots with me ?
To cover the difference in value between the pickups, you would need to pay the cost of getting the pickups and pots swopped at a mutually acceptable Guitar Store. No need to pay anything else.
I think this is a mutually beneficial arrangement, with you getting the excellent EMGx Pickups for almost nothing..and me getting my LP back to "standard".
