I got this guitar in Japan a while back from a Japanese seller. It has a thinner neck profile than I prefer otherwise it would be staying here. According to the seller it started out as a good example of an early 80's Greco SE-600 strat and was then completely modified as follows:
- Body stripped and refinished in Olympic White nitro.
- Refretted with jumbo frets
- Neck heel contoured like the Jeff Beck Fender. Original screw hole in neck dowelled and new one drilled.
- Sperzel locking tuners installed and original kluson tuner screw holes dowelled.
- Tremolo converted from 6-screw mounting to a 2-post pivot.
- Wilkinson roller nut installed
- Pots changed to CTS, selector to CRL Switchcraft
- Japanese handwound vintage-style pickup set installed. Wound with enamel wire and measuring around 5.7k for all pickups (not sure what kind of Alnico magnet)
- Schaller tremolo spring tensioner installed.
- Fender USA pickguard installed.
- Jackplate is original
- Neck has a thinner profile.
- Body appears to be 2-piece Sen Ash
- Weight is 3.6 kg
