Got this idea while chatting with my buddies. Using the wood off the grand piano to guitar body and neck. Mahogany i think. Heard that it will generally make a warm tone. What do u guys think?

Is Teak wood used in guitar building?

WAD! you gonna saw off wood from a grand piano? did you realise the grand piano is a more complicated craft then a guitar? you must be out of your mind to do so... if i were you i'll repair that grand if its a spoilt 1.. damn you are trying to kill something that worth thousands of dollars to make something cheap... :x

good idea! quick go cut up that grand piano! if its good enough for a grand piano... its good enough for any guitar!

haha. we all know you dont!

but i think it will sound quite good actually. the grand piano can make the sound ring long and loud! so maybe it can make guitars sustain more?

yeah chop it up! haha..

the soundboard of the piano will most likely be high grade spruce.. use that for the guitar top..

use the rest of the wood (mahogany) for the back and sides..:)

u can also pluck out the ivory from the keys to make the saddle and the bridge..

hmmm. you guys already got guitars. i dont have a piano. so just give me the piano instead of cutting it up.

i think that would be the best option.
