lets all lay off and wait for the threadstarter to return ya?

What say all of you?

No point continuing when the threadstarter isn't around.

Don't OT, I'll say firewood. Firewood = good for rockstars who need guitars to burn fast on stage ala Jimi Hendrix.

If not plywood would be good for guitar smashers. For shredders, installing a blender..no not the pot but the actual appliance to fix the pick onto will be nice.

i'd go with alder, really a decent wood

bright, works well with most pickups, the weight is not overbearingly heavy or cheap feeling, and imo it has quite a nice grain

anw its my wood of choice, dunno abt e rest

look end of the day what kinda tone u want to achieve you get that wood.

You dont get wood for your guitar because some dude here says he likes whatever wood. The guy has different needs from you.

yra, sry i couldnt include poplar. i actually did include it together with koa, walnut and some others, but it wouldnt display on the message. perhaps there is a limit or something.

and addressing earlier points. yup. agreed, it does matter what choice of pickups go into the wood. so, if you guys wouldnt mind, why not list your wood and write down your pickup selection too.

You agree but I'm afraid you don't quite get it still.

We need to know what YOU want.

There are a thousand and one pickup/wood combinations out there, and every one else has a favourite combination out there!

And what is it with just PICKUPS alone? What about the neck? The fretboard? What is your bridge unit?

And you haven't even told us your pickup configuration - how about recommendations for single coils when you are going for a H-H config?

Then finally, if you are absolutely certain about going for a project, despite seemingly not really knowing what you want/need, are you ready to fork out the $?
