Woman killed after being hit by train at Clementi

[=neonzap

damn, that's rough. i had a ''kanchiong aunty'' experience bout a week ago

i was at novena. i looked at the board which shows what time the train arrives and stuff and my train was arriving in bout 5 mins. so seeing that i didn't need to rush, i walked at a normal pace. and when i was just about to tap my ez-link at the gate, some aunty rushes in before me. being patient, i just assumed she was trying to catch a train that just arrived. turns out she was boarding the same train as i was. bloody hell....

but still nowhere as bad as neonzap's story

yah - why wud anyone wanna pull neozap outta of the trainif they are in a hurry in the first pace? I donno kinda beats me man ...

anyway ... its not about etticate of the other users - This woman could have killed herself

im at clementi mrt every mornin but today i was late...so i guess i miss all the action!damn...must ask them do repeat telecast!

AN elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a train at the Clementi MRT station on Tuesday morning, disrupting westbound train service between Queenstown and Jurong East stations for about 50 minutes
The woman, believed to be a 71-year-old Chinese, was hit by an oncoming train at 6.15 am, said SMRT in a statement.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call about the incident at 6.18am. SCDF officers found the body lying under the third carriage of the train and had to manually extricate it.
The woman was pronounced dead by paramedics at about 6.57am.
To maintain service on the unaffected stretch of the East-West line, westbound trains were turned around at Queenstown MRT Station. Train service between Jurong East and Joo Koon stations were not affected by the incident.
SMRT said it activated a bus bridging service from Queenstown to Jurong East stations to ferry affected commuters.
The first bus arrived at Queenstown MRT Station at about 6.50am. About 6,250 passengers were affected during the incident.
Westbound train service resumed at 7.03am.
Passengers were informed of the service disruption and the free bus services through announcements, notices and the rail travel information system at affected stations.
Passengers who were unable to complete their journeys due to the disruption can claim a full fare refund from any of the 53 SMRT stations within the next three working days.
SMRT is assisting Police in its investigations.

I'll be better if we did.So we can let off that anger from school/work.

actually im more concerned about the beating one commuter got and the rest watched incident though... we'll live to tell the tale but it sure hurts when we're rained with blows... like "happy slapping" like that...

is it that difficult for the company to just set up some solid barricades?

this is not the first time it has happened. how much would it possibly cost? just standard metal barricades firmly secured to the ground.

is it really that hard?
