hi people out there , i recently bought an SG and i accidentally made a small little chip on its body. Im thinking of pasting some stickers or a plaster to cover up the chip such that people won't see it but will pasting stickers affect its tonality?

Depends on what kind of sticker you're using.

If you're using generic low quality stickers, like the kind used in pokemon or football sticker books, the glue (similar properties to rat glue) is actually caustic to lower quality woods like basswood. tiny holes will appear in the body and these trapped air bubbles will resonate, causing tonal loss. as a last resort, glue sniffing addicts actually buy boxes of pokemon stickers, opening each packet to release the fumes for their high. that is how powerful it is.

however, if you're using high quality stickers, like those car decals or any kind of sticker bearing the logos of pedal makers, the stickers actually improve your sound. that is because the glue they use is similar to epoxy, that usually black gooey substance that many boutique pedal makers like to slather their PCBs with. Best example is the Klon Centaur, arguably the best overdrive pedal in the world. His circuit is covered in that stuff and it is an open secret that epoxy gives that special mojo that makes tone heaven reachable. another solution is to stick your stickers using cooked rice. simply mash the cooked rice grains and they act as a powerful tone augmenting glue agent. be sure to cook your rice in quality rice cookers.

so remember! good quality stickers for that special sound!

Wow, we can call that the STICKER TONE !

Maybe we can paste sticker that writes "Overdriven" or " Distorted" to get those effects

J/k la..

But I don't think the effect of stickers is very noticeable, unless like some of here say, it peels the paint or create funny bubbles

Lol, what if they're stickers for bikes? 'Coz my arsenal of stickies on my axe is half car decals anf half bike decals...actually most of it are car's, lol...

All right! Wait...I prefer STI...so that my fingers can drift along the fingerboard faster...and I can do stunts on it too, woohoo!

sand away your headstock logo and stick on a subaru sticker.

I guarantee you, you'll play 100X faster and better. Some says it makes the player automatically the same level as Michaelangelo.

Its all about the looks. Who cares about tone?

I'm locale like dat and must follow the locale ah sia kia scene.
