Why you love or hate your bass?

Got my bass not too long ago. It's an Ibanez SR506.

Love it cos:
- love the killer look
- great versatility of the sound
- 3 band Bartolini active EQ
- 2 soapbars Bartolini MK1-6
- nice natural finish of the mahogany body
- nice contoured body
- great feeling neck with 5 piece bubinga/mahogany
- great tones as i can play anything from jazz, new age to metal

Hate it:
nothing really. Just love it!

ooo... i tend to have a raised spot around my 15th fret, so i have to raise the strings a leeeetle bit to compensate for that spot so i can play the notes around there. otherwise they're... not dead, u just hear some overtones of the note from the fret after the one u're fretting.

that's not a dead spot .. that's like a bad fret ... hur hur .. you can actually solve it by bringing it to a guitar tech and asking him to shave down the fret for you .. i did it previously to my first 5 string bass .. =) ..

CrispyEgg --> where and how much did u get it for? sounds awesome. post pics!

Well...I got it for just under 1k...special deal... :D

Sorry but i'm rather new to this...how do i post a pic? dun think i can just cut and paste right? (i know...stupid question...hehe)

some plus n minuses, if anyones considering these models:

squier p/j
likes
- have a taste of p n j bass sound for a decent price
- gd training for finger strength

dislikes
- quite a stretch, 20 frets on 34"
- limited tone controls

warwick rockbass
likes
- natural finish, bubinga
- powerful bass, well defined tone, cuts thru e mix well
- not tt much shabbier than a proline for a fraction of the price
- close string spacing, takes a bit of getting used to but gd for lazy players :p
- great slap tone

dislikes
- neck is easy to warp
- couldnt really coax a warm sound out of it
- string spacing is not very typical, once u get used to it, takes some time to switch.

spector legend
likes
- looks great, quilted maple top
- electronics produce quite varied tones
dislikes
- quite heavy, almost e same as TRBs i think
- wide n long neck

what's the string spacing for your warwick? 18mm? i find it near impossible to pop a 16.5mm spacing... lol... 18-19 is just nice

its 16.5... yeah its hard to slap/pop on the bass, takes some getting used to. its a great bass, but i think it'll be hard to change basses if u use it exclusively over a long period of time. :?

possible ... my previous 5-string jazz has a string spacing of only 16mm .. mad right? .. but i managed to slap and pop on it comfortable .. certainly i prefer larger string spacing though .. =) but have to agree that 17 - 19mm is comfortable ..
