Why sold that pedal?

I stopped using all dirt pedals that have IC Chips in them. Every one I've tried does not give me the tone I want in my head, so I went the fuzz way of having transistors to get the tone I want.

Still waiting for that dirt pedal with IC Chips, that will prove me wrong and rock my boat.

Maybe Ark's new creation will do it.

Sold them mainly due to cash flow problems or either lost interest in the pedal cuz it doesn't give me the tone i want. Most of the time its mainly due to cash flow problems i suppose? Yeah..

why sell that pedal?
becoz i need cash to buy new pedal. Everybody knows dat.

I need more ppl like shredcow in this thread

sell pedal = cash
cash = buy new pedals

simple maths

Damn right man!

The thing I hate the most in this market...you selling something and people come and ask you why you are selling it. Even after you have stated the condition, working order etc. You wanna buy just buy, need to ask so much for what.

I'm sell my pedals for money, simple maths. ;)

u see..

Q1) what model is it that u sold?
Q2) what did u replace that pedal with?

lets think this way..
User A answering to Q1: ODiot pedal. Because its not warm enuf for me.
User A answering to Q2: Bas3rDistortion. I love it because it gives me warmth :P
User B answering to Q1: Bas3rDistortion. I hate it. Doesn't work for me at nite.
User B answering to Q2: ODiot pedal. I like it. Its not warm, its hot.

just because somebody sell it away in the clssifieds doesn't mean its not good.
this place is for us to share guys. Come on..

but... what I think probably isn't in line with what you think... or any other person for example.

I can't stand tubescreamers. I avoid. I do not use. I mock others who use! Hahaha... but that said, countless pros (worshipped by the lay people, like you & me) use that green box and swear by it.

Ah heck, here's one more... for the fun of it... :P

My entire pedalboard has true bypass pedals on it. I cringe with buffered pedals. I had a Boss DD-3 there, and yes, just ONE boss pedal, I had it in an a/b loop to compare how much tone sucking/alteration the Boss buffer would do.

Its was a little.

Just a tiny little bit of compression and rounded highs.

For that ONE dd-3.

I sold it off. I couldn't take it.

Yeah, i play live, I wouldn't hear or feel it. I have to sit down and listen hard to heard it, play CLEAN to feel the difference.

But who cares? Its my tone.

Obsessive huh.

if ppl share they be alot of +s and -s.

but one thing for sure, all for us will have different =s.

nevermind, forget bout it.

its really true

some people might not understand it

but at the end of the day... FEEL does play a big part eh

so u sold it because its buffered.

ok cool. so if ppl like u share we, we learn rite?

i agree with SoulJah. In the classified u dont have to tell people y y y y..
but pls read the topic, to participate in this thread u must have already sold it wat..just share lah..its something like a review of pedals thread also..hehe
if u dont want to, its fine.

The Feel is like.... the 2nd half to decide if a pedal makes it work for me.

I mean, I take a Skreddy Screwdriver. Its transparent. Minimal colouration to eq, like very little mids added? No only that, I can use my neck humbucker, use my finger to slap the low E string. I hear a pronouced snap from the amp. And I'm not on hillbilly rockability gain, its more than enough for AC/DC type of gain.
Try doing that with a DS1. Or a TS9. At that drive level.

The pedal has to speak with whatever I'm doing to my guitar.

Tone, its a pretty simple recipie IMO. But people keep changing and changing, citing it just doesn't "feel" right. People keep trying other stuff coz they know that what they have isn't quite IT yet.

I think feel is key.

I should go straight to amp.

Well, don't use my words. Try your ears first, really.

I know of everyone else who doesn't mind 1 Boss pedal in their chain.

I'm just being anal retentive.

Alrighty. You should change the thread title to suggestions, tips & tricks on tone. :D

Here's another suggestion if you like your tone, but find some thing lacking, or rather find you have too much of something.

I like a nice fuzzish kind of tone. Its big. Its covers a lot of frequencies.

Problem: It doesn't lend itself well to tight chugging.

I'm sure many of us find that an issue with whatever effects/gear we have.

My fix was not to tweak the amp, you compensate with a bright amp, your whole tone changes. I can't afford 2 Reverend Goblins.
I tweaked my guitar's wiring. With my 3 way pup selector, the middle position of my H-H guitar is wired out of phase.

Out of Phase cuts a lot of bass from my tone. So!

I get a tight, very VERY mean chug now. And its easily switchable "on or off".

Uh. Yeah. something to think about.

but too much of the same person contributing in this thread doesn't help..
anyway, thanks for the aboved posts that are quite irrelevant..

any +s or -s will be fine as long as u stick to the topic. genuine or not is a diff story altogether. as mentioned earlier, your = and mine wont be the same.
just like radiohead's 2+2=5 :P
