im using a Marshal Amp, <G15RCD> its says at the back of my amp,
< Mains Input 230V - 50Hz, 45Watts >

Now, i read reviews at harmony central saying its output is 15Watts.
Wats wat now? im getting confused here !!!

http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data/Marshall/G15RCD-1.html

HELP pls 8O up to now, wheneva anybody asked me abt my amp n vice versa, we only say the wattage n stuff like dat.

and checking out guitars as Swee lee, i told the guy im using a 45watt amp at home, and he replied its good enough to get the tone i want as long as its not a 15 or 20watt n below kinda amp, anyhting above 15 to 20 will be sweet enough. so those words reassured me dat i din do a wrong thing, considering i was a pure noob who went from $h|+ lessons at Ya Ma Ha ... to self taught.

so far ive been able to get pretty much wat i want, except it sometimes pisses me off to my boiling point to dial in my Jackhammer. but other den dat its been alrite so far as im only currently using 3 basic effects < Wah + Dist + Super Chorus >

can y'all help to feed me some knowledge of wats up wif tis input output stuff and wattage and all pls ??? i'd really appreciate it a whole lot!

Thanx Alot!
Cheers!

wattage alone doesnt determine how good an amp sounds. you be amaze how good the 1/2 watt nano head sounds.

well yes of course hurhurhur gig for nice stage volume i prefer at least 30 watts.
unless suddenly gt inear monitors or nice big wedges hurhruhruhurhru.

but alas i not in big name band.

WEDGES WEDGES

Still remember those good ol' underground gigs ....where got monitor !!!
Nowadays kids are spoilt 8O ..opps blessed
Yes ...its so nice having monitors when you can hear yourself better ....talkin abt monitors makin me itch to gig again...where is my tight pants honey !!!

when i see a wedge is only on those rare good days when organiser can afford good company.

usually my monitor consist of me moving to my other guitarist side hurhurhru.

Play louder i cant hear you dammit!

ok, so how would u knw dat wat "wattage" would be good for practise. although for home practice? cos i realised dat wen i put my gear settings at home onto an amp at jamming, it sounds different!

i mean im happy wif wat i got now, but after readng stuff, im kinda unsure now!

ok i need to clear wif a few doubts here,

1) is my amp Wattage good?
2) how do u knw how many watts is coming out?
3) important thing is the wattage rite? as in its a 45w like mine, or 100w and so on!

Appreciate the help alot!
Thanx!
Cheers!

Yes 15 watts output ...get over it come on... its not your wattage that is wrong ....its your amp. 8O
ok! ok! Marshall no play me ...thats the deal here.
Good amp for practise...not too loud
When u have mons to burn give it to me ....ok
There heaps out there browse the web ya....remember for home practise try not to exceed 50watts = your neighbour will throw stones at you and throw paint on your door...be warned!!! for gig get a 300 big mama watter.

have a look here

wattage is just how loud it is to put it very simply cuz it seems ur still un sure how this works.

home practice just get a small amp can liao u dun need the volume.

u use ur setting on ur amp and go to a studio to jam and use the same settings of course its different, beacasue mainly its a DIFFERENT AMP.

and no wattage is not important. its doesnt determine how good it sounds.

and for the last time your amp is 15 watts not 45!!!!!

Listen and learn. As the model name is a give away. G15RCD translated in this case easily as "Guitar Amp 15Watts with Reverb & CD input".

This amp IS a 15 Watt amp as us in the field call it.

The "Mains Input 230V - 50Hz, 45Watts" literally means the power input requirements is 230volts at 50hertz (A.C.) at a maximum possible power consumption of 45watts. This is an info label not unlike when you buy packaged food from the supermarket stating the nutritional info. Its required by authority to be displayed to tell people how much their device consume. So if your 13amp 3-pin power outlet approx can support up to 3000watts total current. And you have a 2000watt kettle on and a 1000watt hair dryer on the same plug, by adding the 45watt amp of your to the same plug, you are exceeding the acceptable rating of the outlet.

It's about safety.

When you are talking about sound and loudness, use your ears to differentiate, NOT YOUR BRAINS, bothering about stupid numbers duh....

so my 1500W vacuum cleaner is louder than my 50000W PMPO boom box? cos i HEARD PMPO Watts bluff people one....

Haha.... PMPO is to bluff ah beng & ah seng ones. You can see computer speakers box say 480W pmpo output, so the ah sengs get very excited and kenna conn to buy lor.

Actually inside only got a 2.5+2.5watt stereo amp ic chip, which normally under such cheapo design punch out about 1watt usable per channel.

The horsepower term in music power output is in RMS (root means square).
