Randolf Arriola.

I was 13/14, he walked by did a little 'Crying' by Malmsteen on my cheap Kapok acoustic guitar with Lion brand strings. Left my friend& me, in awe.

He showed me that, it ain't the guitar but the guitarist that matters.

Thank you Sir.

My sec sch taught us how to play 'Stand By Me' when I was 14. I only really continued to play constantly after listening to bands like Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine and Atreyu

My dad. spammed me to listen to the beatles and taught me how to play red hot chili peppers in primary school. To think i was THAT interested in the guitar back then.

when i was in junior high school
back there forming a band is popular

i can't play a damn thing, seeing my friend play guitar seems cool
soo decided to start learning guitar from songbook

My History Teacher gave me his acoustic guitar back when i was 15. It was kinda in shambles. The strings were rusty and some strings were missing. I went and made it look new.

Then my dad let me listened to Jimi's Purple Haze. I got that little bit of eagerness to learn the guitar. Then I listened to the solo from Synyster in Bat Country and I thought I was ready to learn. But after listening to Dimebag's solo in Floods. I just went and pick it up and started playing. Now I'm playing my own customized Superstrat. It was actually a budget electric guitar i got off Peninsular. I love it sooo much!

When I've first started listening to metal after I've found the following bands at HMV: Dismember and Dissection (bought the CDs because I like their cover-art...fell in love with the music)...also friend introduced me to Inflames and Hammerfall...I've only later started listening to Metallica...lol.

For me, I'd say my eldest bro. My dad bought a classical guitar for him. I was 12 then and schooling in the afternoon session. So when I woke up early, I got bored. Since I like to sing, I like an accompaniment for that. Last time where got karaoke and things like that.

The guitar was just an accompaniment for me to sing at first. Became a so-called rock vocalist when I was 14. Hehehe!! Then the guitarist can't play chords properly and so I start playing the guitar and quit singing totally. My greatest guitar hero is B.B.King!!

when i started, i just felt like it and got a classical and acoustic guitar haha
but now, yngwie malmsteen "made" me get an electric guitar, and i love jrock songs :D

Back in 1982, I had a few classmates who were into playing the guitar. I wanted to learn to play songs by the Beatles and the Eagles. An uncle of mine loaned me his old Suzuki acoustic guitar, but after playing it for a few months, I longed for my own guitar. We went to a musical instrument shop at Thomson Plaza, where I bought my first guitar, a Kawai F-200D Dreadnought. I recall it was probably a Kawai musical instrument shop, they sold pianos too. I think I paid about $280 for it, a princely sum for a teenager. I have kept the guitar all these years and still enjoy playing it now and then. The wood has matured (darkened) and the sound has mellowed. Actually I prefer playing it to my other acoustic guitars because it gives off a warm and rich tone. It just sounds better!

Changed to Elixir strings recently, and my Kawai sounds even better!
