Heehee...... I just thinking on the extreme end of what could be. But when you really encounter such a person (there are), then it will set you thinking and reflecting on your own behaviour. Same as in a race, when you are beaten by another person, you always reflect on yourself and how to be a better person the next time.

The equipment thing is on another tread, but I just want to point out, that we are very lucky to be in SG. Where equipments are already way better of what is normally avail at other countries. Maybe it's the skill and experience level of the provider and user.

I think some take it the wrong way.."Playing for One's Self" doesn't mean playing "yourself" or by lonesome. It just means tht ur playing for ur own cause, playing bcoz u want to play, n coz u want to b bttr n best in what u do for ur own cause. It means u have a goal, the goal is set by u, n u try ur best to achieve it, nt bcoz u'd b famous when u do, bt bcoz u'd b happy for urself n b satisfied w/ ur ability. And SC thtz a question i'v always wanted to ask. What abt em? I'v seen such a person b4..& itz reli sad.

What abt them? Well, chances are they also wouldn't find a band unless they are into the mainstream music that bands play. They wouldn't have any chance of radio airplay unless they happen to want to be a big pop star.

However, if they do find a band or ppl who think along their line, they work hard, never give slipshod work because they are living out their dreams and vision. And yeap, they never rest till either their dream comes true or they give up. Which most go for the latter because... well... how do you survive as an underground artiste if you want to finance a family and stuff?

Yeah ofcourse..U cant remain underground if ur looking to live off ur music vision. Nobody wants to i suppose..

hmm... i`ll play for myself...but ...if u wanna gig ..u might like to consider the goal of the band too...hey ..dun tell me u gig alone...:)

u can write songs for the band ...but when it comes to soloing, fill and tone u just have to be independant...this can be real challenge when there are 2 guitarist involved in the band...

thats all there is to it for me ...currently...but u can also play for the audience
by doing "cover kinda tribute" in that way you shoot 2 birds with one stone...

base on this topic...wat will u do if a song was written by A ..then you have to fill his space?...would you play exactly like him? or would you improvise?

well??share ur thoughts...this is a gd topic to discuss...
