HMM.. OK i'm stuck right now.. i plan to go down to my nearest shopping mall and get one later.

SO SO.. i'm so stuck...

ZEN NEEON!
IPOD NANO!

aaah.. which one. lasting, great sound, function.. they cost about the same right? my budget is around 300.

IPOD NANO has hit the NEWPAPER today. People are actually complaining abt the NANO -> short batt life + scratched display screen. However, that is oversea & Apple company hafta refund or replace the spoilt set for a new ones (poor thing man).

Re: Haix

YES! i check the almost every article on the net about the complains on Ipod Nano.. i'm having doubts now.. i'm droppin by my neighbourhood mall later.. hmm but i definitely prefer Ipod's wheelie's navigation.

As for zen, the display screen is rather small, kinda troublesome to navigate.. other than that nothing much to complain

And for ipod nano.. bleah.. all the news about screen cracking, battery lifespan and scratches..

hmmmmmmmmm :?

Hee

Hmm Ipod design is kewl, but don't let the outlook deceive u. Actually Ipod not bad, I haven't heard of cases in Sg yet, but who knows rite? Better to be safe :)

iPod

screen cracking - i guess it is dropped face down
scratches - dropped, mishandled
battery lifespan - that is something to worry about, but mine is 1.5yrs old, battery lasts for 8-10hrs on a single charge. when i first bought it, the battery lifespan was shorter abt 3-4hrs. but after constant use, it get longer. just like my Nokia handphone. newer ones suppose to have longer batt lifespan.

anyway, do ur research and take ur time to decide...
and i wish u good luck on ur purchase!

kaye.

if i were you, i would go for zen neeon. i personally is going to get that during november. and a piece of news for you, i heard from my friend that creative is doing a creative sale during the november period. so you can get it at a cheaper price and the same amount of quality.

i went down to suntec this afternoon, zen neeon cost 329 everywhere in suntec. i'm not sure for funan and sim lim though.

i'm not sure about iPod. my classmates and class advisors are complaining that it sucks totally. *laughs. don't know if it's true or not.

ok... having been using the nano for awhile now... the batt life is definitely enough for the average user... i charge it around... once every.. 3- 4 days.. i use it frequently.

just go to the store... if possible just compare the creative player to the ipod.
hold it in your hands and try both... its easy to read and form opinions.. but the true test will be in the shop. Dun just go off and buy sumthing just cause u read some where that its good.

U can do a rough mathematical calculation by looking at the back of each product's packaging to see which 1 has more positive points, or which 1 has something u really favour/need. Then u can form an equation y=mx+c n finally u get the rough answer to ur dilemma.

3 to 4 hours??!?! Ye gotta b kiddin me man. With backlight on ey?
hahahahhha! yup, that was when i 1st bought it... but after a few recharges, its 8-10hrs. and no backlight btw.

boohoo.. i went to my neighbourhood mall yesterday. EH.. i dont really like the neeon navigation, but it's much more cheaper and can store much more music than Ipod nano.

ChanMin!! does your Ipod scratches easily? i'm plannin to get a black ipod nano if the problem of the scratching isnt that bad.

aaaaaah... echoist.. my brother was tellin me to get those older version of ipod.. eh but heavy leh. and it cost like.. 500+ :( Or Zen Mirco

Anubitsch.. i'm reaaally bad at maths, i fail my o lvls maths hack. haha. i have no idea how to use that equation y=mx+c.. isnt that the equation for finding lines on graphs.. hmmm

problem with black ... is definitely dust.

not to mention scratchs will be very obvious.. on the black surface.
black nano is only nice when its perfect and shiny.

thats why i chose white.
anyway.. white is THE ipod colour aniway.

hahahahhha... i'm starting to pity u grrl... in so much pressure/confusion in getting an mp3 player...

the older ones are bigger, heavier, more expensive, and can store more songs. i guess the $500+ is the 20gig version. that can approx save 5000 songs. do you need that much songs with u? i'm using the older 40gig version (obsolete now!) with black & white screen (now its colour!) n i have 7184songs with 5gig to spare! i'm greedy!!! i feel the 2gig nano is enough for most people. that is approx 500 songs storage space. enough for u?

abt scratches, its not a matter of how easy it scratches. its a matter of how u take care of "ur baby" to prevent scratches! hehehehhhe... there are a wide variety of skins/cases u can get to protect ur iPod. so it shouldn't be much of a problm. i dun use any skin/case for my iPod, so its got scratches all over. i just slip it into my pockey most of the time with my keys, coins, etc... and i've dropped it a few times, its got more dings than the guitar i used to have! so if u take care of it, should be fine...

btw, when i 1st got my iPod i treat it like a small fragile kitten, full of love, i wipe it clean everyday, keep it dust free, talk to it, etc. but after a while, i just want it to do what it is suppose to do best: play music for me like a good ol' trusty mp3 player!

if u're getting a mini. get the gen2 one. i got the generation 1, and it sucks, seriously.
i got mine around feb. and now it plays when its happy and low batt when its upset.

and IF, ur ipod goes crazy. u have to bring it over to the factory at yio chu kang. APPLE doesnt provide services at their counters.

BAD BAD SERVICE.

>> Ipod's nasty little secret.

but i still prefer APPLE over ZEN.

hahaa! Ipod unreplaceble battery only last for 18months.. haha. hmm i like that video.

hm.. i'm getting the 4gb Ipod Nano.. black.. hot.

Hope my hard earn part time money doesnt go to waste. :(

Just buy it lor.. You wont know until you try it rite?? Just follow where your heart tells you and at the same time follow your brain also lar.. Haha

Hmm

I wld personally suggest Zen Neeon, but Creative mp3 products alway haf firmware problem, so just watch out for it & it'd run jus as fine.

hmmmmm... 18mths=1.5yrs rite? hey, my iPod is that old, and still alive and kicking music well...

OK!!! finally u've made a decision!!! yahooo!!! hooorayyy!!! hey, post some pics of ur sexy, black, hot piece, ok... u are officially an Applelite! well, soon anw... congrats...

I've owned a Zen before, and disappointingly it spoiled after 1.5 years. I sent it to creative who told me they stopped shipping the parts, and there was nothing they could do about it. My creative FM remote also ceased to work only after 2 months as well. Another friend's creative earphones couldn't work after only a week, and his player spoilt after a month. On the other hand I've been enjoying my ipod 4gb for just over a year, with no discernable drop in battery life. iTunes is a plus for me as well - i've enjoyed my music more than with mediasource. One main draw is that iPods (at that time, and now with the nano) are noticably smaller, and easier to carry around. I'm personally very disappointed with creative products' lifespan & QC - so do take note if you intend to purchase a creative player.
