Please try out the pedals first. There really isn't much better pedals since the circuits are all different, and the guitars and amps u use are all different.

i recommend you buy a distortion which suits your taste first. that way, you get to experiment with it and eventually you'll find your sound.

yo.. I settled for ibanez tubesreamer ts-9 made in jap after testing out ds-1, mt-2 and ts-9. feel that the sound is more suitable for me. thanks guys anyway.
