which EARPHONES for iPod?

In-ear earphones, are generally used to isolate external noise from the surroundings so you can enjoy that music from your player much better when you're commuting in the train daily.

With regards to loss of hearing, when using in-ear earphones, you shouldn't bring the volume to a level you'd normally listen to when using normal earphones because that simply defeats the purpose of having in-ear earphones to block off external noise. In any case, even when using normal earphones, the music shouldn't be excessively loud that the person beside us can hear it.

If you're not careful, you'd begin to experience loss of hearing in 10 years' time. Got that from straits times yesterday

the sennheiser mx55vc (volume control). With 64ohm it has to be the loudest earphones out there, the bass is very good too and clarity not bad..plus its designed not to slip out so easily, in fact it wont slip out at all. I know coz I own one. But becareful of the cable, the rubber may get peeled off if you don't take good care of it. Happened to me once, but I liked it so much that I bought another one.

check out stereo electronics at causeway point. 3rd floor. They have sample pairs for you to try them on, the dudes there are also very helpful. Spent almost 2 hours there trying earphones before i decided on my Super Fi.

i didn't like the mx55s. Clarity wise IEMs are still the way to go. But of course there is the up in price.

Chanmin bro, nothing beats a good headphone for music but its bulky to bring ard hurhur

i have a pair of mylarone and it works fine for me. comparing to the stock sony ericsson earphones , i find the mylar's sound very balanced and quite a heavy bass punch. There are higher end model like mylar3 though. Quite power and affordable. Give it a try !

+1 to jaben. super friendly and nice.

Creative Aurvana (i think around $200)

i know a lot of audiophiles here may not associate Creative with high fidelity audio but Creative Aurvana headphones are really good. in-ear earbuds, comes with different size earbud heads and a nice compact little case as well as a 2-pin adaptor for airplane use. very comfortable and almost complete sound isolation (passive).

basically, when i'm on the train and i plug these babies in i can't hear the station being announced anymore. it's becomes very very quiet. then i press "play" and i hear things in the song that i never noticed before.

when i'm on airplane flights, especially long ones, they're comfortable enough that i can just wear them without plugging them into anything and it blocks out all the noise and i can sleep with them on.

in short, these headphones are good!

I'm using Mylarone XBs. 75 buckaroos from uncle wilson at jaben. UBER BASS

Mylar 3s go for 65, less bass. clearer sound. but less bass. and less bass is no good for me. bass.

Mylars are really good. But nothing beats those big headphones man. They still sound the best. Earphones don't come close.

im using senheisser px100 headphones, costs 106bucks at HMV but i bought it for 69bucks at an computer store in bugis junction, its bass is super fucking powerful.
and dont worry about getting deaf, enjoy the music while you can at its best. getting deaf is one day when u decide u dont wanna listen to that much music.

I'm using Crossroads Mylar 3. To my ears, nothing can beat this in ear canal phones at this price range.

Beggars cannot be choosers.

My opinion only hor... I find that its a very well balanced unit. No exageration of bass frequencies. No shrill highs. No ear fatigue mids. They're just perfect to me.

The plus point is that you can buy if from a very nice and jovial uncle and if he's in the mood he'll throw in loads of freebies.
