The tone now sounds like a low treble/middle range response, even if the eq is tweaked to the max, the bass is dull, even though the sustain is there. i would really like an amp which allows the kkw to shine through. I don't know why it sounds like that on the mg, the sound i might wanna get could be crunchy yet not to the extend of an insane full gain metal sound. I also have a samick gb sig, it sounds better on the mg though, leading me to think that the kkw has some pickup problem.
You need to remember that the kkw is basswood, and A LOT of it... Basswood doesn't give you that bright snap to a tone. If the Samick sounds better on the MG than the kkw, then I'd say it's the kkw and not the amp.
The main way to get a lower freq response, is with a bigger amp. Or rather, a bigger box. it's not a wattage issue. This is mainly why the Laney VC15 and the LC15R are so different. The LC15R is compact, and sounds boxed in. The VC15 is big and boomy. But both have the same wattage and use the same tubes.
Oh, and no offense, but the kkw is from a BC Rich starter pack right?
