I'm guessing you're looking for a really heavy, fat, thick distortion pedal?
It'll be really difficult to get a "good" pedal at that price range, even for 2nd hand ones.
$60-$80 (2nd hand) will be more likely...

My recommendation since you're a newbie:
- Boss MT2 Metal Zone
- DOD Grunge (or is it Digitech now?)
Those 2 pedals, you have to sit down and tweak with your amp setting to get a good sound. But, it'll be difficult to get "good crushing tones" if you're using a 15W practice amp at bedroom levels. It'll be a different case though when you're in a jam studio playing with big amps at louder volumes...

Try checking-out the buy/sell section, you might find some there... :mrgreen:

lol. Save up more kid... but for cheapies:

1. Danelectro Fab Tone - under rated 'doom' pedal
2. DS-1 then MOD it
3. check in Buy & Sell, there are several 'sacrifice' sale good pedals there.
4. Those mini Danelectro's not bad at all especially the Fab Distortion.
