Where to get Monster Powered Monitor Cable?

Hi,

I bought a pair of V8 last week and connected instantly with RCA. Who is the distributor of these cables ?

Thanks

KMA

i called Tat Chuan, supposingly the distributor in Singapore but they dont have this cable too.

Checked Sinamex but they only have the 1000 series. Going for $125 each. 12 ft.

you connect from mixer to speakers? you use the RCA-to-1/4 adaptor? Like that not balanced. :(

Yes, RCA to 1/4. Some one in Sinamex told me over phone. Not Simon. The brochure which comes with V8 does not have much info on cables/connections.

I have 2 XLR cables connected to a single TRS. -balanced. Have to take them to SLS to connect 2 separate TRS.

. S125? I'll try online.

Thanks

I could not wait for the XLR cables. :D So connected to check the system immediately (Saturday) :D I'll try in Sim Lim today.

i went Sim Lim on Sat too! But only spend 20mins combing all 6 floors cause wife in the car waiting. hee..hee...

could not find it too. asked the cable shop at 2nd floor and was quoted Neutrik XLR, Neutrik TRS and Canare Star Quad (4m) for $90. Could he have quoted wrongly? Kinda expensive huh?

no need xlr also can. but should get the balanced once (TRS).

which mixer are you using?

Better to use XLR-XLR where permissable.

My take is that if the cable length is short like under 2meter. The difference in performance between a $15 cable and a $150 cable is to me NEGLIGABLE.

The link to the report by Cavett shows an over zealousness to patent a common name to the extreme.
The news always blows up a story a lot. But I guess even some truth to this story is a bit too much to take.
It's like I have to be so careful to name my company or product that I do not have any other choice but to go like "GHYVESTDTA" or "VVBBSSRREE" to not fear getting trademark sue.
Yeah....after reading the story, i feel like I will definately boycott their product as they are so petty in guarding the trademark. Even if their product is A1.

Hi,

Behringer 12 channel. Analog. If it is damaged, then, planning to buy a mackie OR yamaha or softcraft. 16 channel analog.

Which cables you guys are using to connect keyboard, synth and sound card ? DYI ?

How about this ? http://www.hosatech.com/

What should I look for when I buy cables ? Any tips from experienced ?

Thanking you in advance

Try not to DIY. Gives you a connection problem nightmare. Also not as cheap as you think.

I can get cheapo cables and connectors of decent quality ready made ones, cost about half than if I make myself buying similar quality stuffs. Of course you must know how to judge if the quality is acceptable.

Soldering and know how is also important, I being playing electronics & soldering for about 20yrs now, so I'm confident with the stuff I make.

I see plenty of Sound company who DIY or no choice have to custom make their own connections. End up korking up the sound outcome and worst blow equipments and amps and speakers. Better off using cheapo ready mades.

Some just want to save a few dollars, but end up with hefty repair and replacement costs. Like we say Penny Wise, Pound Foolish.

I have made the XLR-TRS balanced cable from a shop at SLS. Reasonable price. [#03-54 Sim Lim Mr. Alan Goh (97688912)].

V8 is really Excellent

Hi James,

I have called the monster cable distributor. (show room at Adelphi) 63345566. I was told that they don't sell balanced, pro cables.
