Where to get Ibanez S540?

very nice model u got there. i used to like the sabre series but i jus keep goin back to rgs nowadays. smtimes when u need the extra 2 frets and its not there, i can get veri annoyed. but the new sabres are nice, the new 24 fretters and they are made in japan so not much different from the old s540. maybe abit. why dont the ts try those?

the extra 2 frets on the latest S are good but the price... cannot la. i want an older S because the quality is said to be much better then. and of course old models are cheaper. :D

omg feedback... that's just like gambale's S! low profile!

ok la. depends also. the older models also can reach extravagant prices which can be ridiculous smtimes cause they are so sought after. personally for me i went for the s series cause i found the dual-arch body and the sleekness veri sexy. but now with the rga im aiming more for that guitar since it has such nice curves, a beautiful flame maple top, 24 frets and a fixed bridge!!!!

your guitar is very nice indeed. i think i will just go to guitar connection and try out the S there. if it feels good then i will try to nego the price.

So I went to Guitar Connection to try the S540 there. The finish was awesome but the hardware was tarnished badly. The previous owner tried to touch up the tarnished gold hardware and it made the hardware look worse. The boss asked me what did i feel about the guitar. I told him honestly that I was abit disappointed then he started saying, '$1300 is a very reasonably price already. If not for that little hardware problem you think I sell so CHEAP?'

Ok let's not talk about the hardware since those, are looks only! Need see the inner beauty ma! the lo-pro wasn't setup properly. And the arm holder was loose. Not that arm but the arm holder. It would rattle! Even if the ARM is set loose, the HOLDER shouldn't be lose right? I'm not that familiar with the lo-pro so I dare not comment. But $1300 really seems TOOOOOO much for that S540.

Pre Frank Gamble model...
Should try to look out for the dessert yellow...

Those FGM are ridiculous stuff.

The THINNEST S series guitars ever. Its sick. They even have recessed lo-pro Edges which make them almost as low profile as the current Edge Pro. Talk about slim. Geez.

"Feedback"

Dood, I had to reply to this. Why is your left foot flipping me off? Hehe just kidding, actually I have the same guitar (s540 LTD) that I bought in 92 or 93. It still is 100% stock:

I just recently bought a RG2620CBK and a RG2570EVSL (steal at $450!!!).

Don't have a pic of the 2570 yet, it won't be here until Friday.

Note that some S540s have an inlay that says "custom".

I don't know what was up in the minds of Ibanez but... its not a custom. Its just a regular production model, if rarer than other Sabers.

When I purchased my S540 way back when, I was told the "Custom Made" was because they were assembled (not made) and setup by pro's instead of assembly line type setup.
