Hi!

I need a new gig bag for my bass.
Where is the best place to get one? I don't think Davis [where i got mine] has a very good selection, so I was wondering where you guys get yours.

Thanks for looking!

hohohoho

MONO is MOOLAHHHHHH! Be prepared to fork out if you want MONO.

Cherns from Red Dot Music carries a good selection of cases. check him out at www.rdmgear.com

Noted, thanks!

How much are they, btw? It says about 160-200 on the internet. I'm more in the 50-80 dollar range, sadly. Anything else that is noteworthy?

the Mono is about $190 at City Music. you get what you pay for, the thing has so much padding it's ridiculous. the only problem with it is that with all the padding, you can expect it to be quite bulky. i have trouble fitting my bass into cars sometimes.

for $50-$80, your best bet would be the Warwick Rockbags. be sure to get the ones with more padding, there are a few variations in the Rockbag line. i have no idea where to get one first hand though. they come up on the buy/sell section occasionally.

I've compared the rockbag to the mono. its really really no fight. the mono's padding is so much thicker than the rockbag.

If you really love your intrument, save up for a mono. its worth every cent.

Cool, thanks.

A mono will have to wait for later. Maybe after I buy a new bass, since my current is just a SX starter.

The only issue is that I need a new one asap. By next week. What about hard cases?

depends if you want the extra assurance. just remember that hard cases tend to be heavy and EXTREMELY bulky. high chance that it won't fit in many car boots, and getting checked by security on the mrt.

Hmm. well, I only ever take my bass to school and theres plenty of space on the bus...
Is there room for stap/cable/music books?

I made a conclusion based on measurements of the MONO bag on their website that my Thunderbird won't fit in it though I have yet to try it physically. Anyone by any chance physically found out that a Thunderbird by some miracle able to fit in it? Yes I know I'm still stupidly hoping haha...Contacted Cherns before but there was no word of a Spork Bag that is able to fit a Thundy in it....

definitely. i stuff 1 15ft cable, 1 coiley cable (these take up lots of space), my strap. and there's still room.

one more pocket one top for like.. wallet. or whatever

Oh, then it'll be no problem for me.

Wheres the best place to get one? Like which store? The only I've been to in Davis and they don't have much.

Eh, I can't afford it at the moment.

I'm not asking for a specific brand, just which store has the biggest collection/variety of cases and bags.

don't think so. the spork can't fit my godin a4 fretless, it seems like it only takes in electric basses.

u can try those ESP gig bags at davis:
