where can i find it...

yo dude....
how you play the drums?
u basically thrash all the way or wat??

sometime you shud learn to control your playing ah...
even tho you playing metal or thrashing or blasting, there must be some control in the way you play....

i agree wif the others, better not get aluminium sticks....
instead of the sticks get broken, later the skins or even the cymbals might break, which in turn will cost you more... as in to pay back to the owner or studio for the damage you've done...

plastics sticks???
hmmm.......
doesnt really feel good to play wif, in my opinion....

maybe you shud do this,
i think, vater or carlos ( dont flame me, i'm not sure which brand ) got sell in one bulk of 50 sticks or something, maybe you shud get those..
hahahahahahah
one break, still got 48 more to use...
and i believe, in bulk, they sure cost lots more cheaper that in pairs...

and oh yeah,
next time go jamming, bring your own sticks ah.... rather than you wat is there..... coz usualli the sticks in the jamming room seems like always to give way anytime.. and if youre the lucky (or in this case, unlucky) one, you will be the person to complete the breakage and in the end pay for it.....

you saying no feel where... like your playing has no feel or you just cant get enough of the rebound?

if i hit with controlled strength, it feels like something missing, and feel like something pulling me back, holding me back. does not feel good. but when i "release" it, wah seh, very song lol! think WC3, hen your units kena slow poison or slow status.

oh, so far, i not made to pay for the broken sticks lol...maybe i lucky or what la, but i vry te scared of any more breakage lols...

possibly, the problem is not on th material of the stick XP

The solution? Head to the next meetup and let the many Brothers diagnose you.

cant go to this one...got exams to study for...maybe next month one? for sure i will try find time come man...gots to do something about that "monsterous" strength...but i can only play best with guitars/bass firing away XP...

yo dude....

not really...if ownself practice, maybe nothing will happen to the sticks, but when you play till chorus of some fast songs, or heavy songs, you sure will feel like dstroying the drums and sticks one XP...

talk about carnage

woah, you must hit really really really hard. cos even though i'm a hard hitter, i only broke my stick once. But i will try to remind myself to control also, or else the cymbals break den jia lat.

Sticks do break over long periods of use. I break sticks average about once every 4 to 6 months.

What some of the guys said is spot on. If you are breaking sticks so frequently, chances are that you are still hitting too hard. Perhaps you need to pay more attention to your strokes rather than looking for sticks made of more durable material.

Just my thoughts on this :)

point taken...currently investigating into the problem...reading wikipedia jus now did not help...hum...scouraging for drumming websites now......

yeap yeap... FEELING...

anyway.. from this thread i guess most likely everything in the jamming room is super duper loud.. better wear ear plug or else next time you cant even go jamming liao when you deaf.. hahaha

my hearing is quite bad now.. cause like my ipod is always on max volume and i play drums without any protection...

sorry arh.. off track.. haha

hahahaha...

yo sherlock jenocide...... try to play wif feelings lah....
dont everytime got to hit very hard....

yea! feeling!

prob is, when i play with feelings, those monsterous strength will set in lol... i a thinkig if its something to do with hitting the shoulder of the stick too many times on the rim of the snare drum(or tom)...therefore causing some internal crack, and after prolong use, the stick splits...ah i dunnoe...LOL

my sennheiser headphones act as makeshift earplugs...altho it just got confiscated along with my mp3...by my girlfriend... XP

loud noises in studio? common problem! hehe *sheepish*

jenocide:
Hmm... sounds like you're doing rimshots a lot then. Rimshots can be done nicely without splitting sticks. It's a matter of how you strike the snare (positioning of sticks etc). You don't really need to whack hard to get a nice crack sound from a rimshot.

I'm still working on my rimshots to sound nice actually. So maybe some of the more experienced bros here can help shed some light on this.

talking about rimshots... if you wanna learn how to play proper rimshots, you can ask one of our bros here...
his nick is ExRocker....
now he long time mia liao.. dont know where he go...
but can just try and pm him about proper rimshots playing ah

souka... rimshots huh... XP

guess i have lots to work on, and have to find time to get to the drummer meet up pronto too...XP where is it anyway?

yup, with rim shots, pick a spot on the drum i normally pick a post between 2 lugs.
play slow make sure u hit the rim well. let ur ears be the judge of a gd rimshot.
just play with ur left hand, then slowly add everything else

So there's not a trace of wood in Ahead sticks?
And haha phantompong I'm very very sure I know you from somewhere wahahahaha

nope, not a trace of wood in there. thats why that joey dude called it woodknot sticks.. well ive been using a few pairs of promark sticks rotating for like a year. all still fine. under the attack of jamming and practicing at home. its the feeeeeellll dude(:
