Whcih Amp should i get between this 3?

am i right to assume that you are working within a certain budget? otherwise, do consider the CUBE30...

to me , i feel that the cube 30 is more for those that go guitar-amp directly .. the distortion from it is solid .. trust me .. used it with a fender at my drummers place .. wow .. the cube 30 .. did everything from blues to metal man. on single coils.haah

never tried using efx with the cube 30 ..

sorry for going off topic ah .. subversion .. wats the diff between guitar-efx-amp direct
and guitar-efx-(thru efx loop)-amp ?

if you value your guitar's inherent tone, you'd do well to plug straight into your amp. having pedals in between your guitar's signals & the amp 'colours' your tone too much, what you hear at the end of the chain isn't your guitar's original voicing.

if you choose to process your signals through the FX loop option, you are only 'colouring' your tone after it has reached the amp. this option retains much of your guitar's tonal characteristics, it is a more prefered option especially when you have replacement pickups in your guitar.

anyway, between the laney and the ibanez, the laney has an overdrive, whereas the ibanez has more of a distortion on its drive channel, well imo

clean wise, neither of them very fantastic

for me i'd prefer a vox pathfinder anytime

I'd go for the cube. It sounds great clean.

Subbie, pedals color the tone? We ain't talking about Jazz tone here eh... hahaha... just ribbing you lah...

To be frank... rare it is these days that guitar players NOT have pedals and shape their tone thro pedals. That is unless they've got a nice little tube amp cranked and they play the BLUESSSS..... or a super clean jazz sound.

I don't man, to me the basic rock setup would be
1) Guitar
2) Pedals like OD/Dist, Modulation and Delay
3) Amp

Cos most practise amps (lets take those simulators out of the equation) have distortions that sucks.

And those multi multi do everything except your laundry amps can sound good but what about the control when you need to switch to clean, turn off the delay, turn on the chorus etc?

Hei jeremy.. Do you owe a pathfinder?? Whats your opinion about the Valvetronix and the Pathfinder??

*Hijacking the thread* Do you stay in yishun?? Which blk huh?? Me too.. One day we meet lor.. LOL

well, if u want a good practice amp thats worth it, i suggest u do not go for any of those 3 amps... ESP. not the peavey...

every since those cheap peaveys got manufactured in china, bass was really lacking in them...

well i highly reconmend two 15 watts practice amps:

VOX Pathfinder 15R:

(made in err... not sure. gotta go ckeck)

and

Marshall MG15-CDR:
http://www.luthermusic.com/cgi-bin/WB_ItemPageGen.pl?t=1126671930&Pid=325&Gid=
(made in Korea)

these 2 amps are hot favs among home practice amps and both have their own differences... the Marshall has a very good inbuilt distortion while the Vox is more of a vintage overdrive...

i'd prefer the Vox due to its lower price and its cleaner sound... the Vox is generally less "coloured" then the marshall and would work well with future efx paddles...

dun be like me... kia su and go and buy a $400 40 watts transtube peavey made in china.. its loud but lack of bass... grrr...
