What's happening to the world?

I'm more concerned about geetarers who dunno how to google, come on SOFT asking to be spoon fed, repeating the same thing again and again and again... and the whole stagnant state of guitar-ing here.

But wait.

This new thing involves money right? No wonder the angst!

Do you mean...when you state the price is FIRM and people obviuosly ignore or cannot read, then follow that with ..."what is your lowest price?" WTH? LOL!

well, to Melin, I really didn't want your name exposed at all. Wasn't my intention to say your profile on soft and i apologise for that. However, the reason why i took 2 weeks, not months, to ask you was to clarify what the hell was going on. I didn't want to look like an asshole blaming you for something that may be my fault. After looking at the pedal with a few techs and friends, I have come to realise that it's definitely not my fault at all as I never touched a single thing nor have I mistreated it. I went back to you for help, all you could say was that you bought it from the US. I wanted to ask for a refund, you shunned me away, why am I pissed only now? Well, because everybody I have been to, to fix a problem that isn't my fault, has said they are just dumbfounded by the pedal. You probably could have avoided this all by just lending a helping hand not just saying, "no thanks I have no need for it can you please sell it by yourself? thanks." you obviously know that the pedal is faulty, how the hell am i going to sell it? That just led me to think that you're fine with selling faulty pedals, which is, pardon me for saying this, very coincidental, I might say.. Not very good with words.

Fulltone, i agree with you on that cos, its Singaporean to haggle. Actually not all buyers are at fault. There are some sellers that mess around with you also....

for example, take this conversation i had with a certain softie who wanted to sell me his skreddy screwdriver:

softie: trade your tubezone for my skreddy SD?
me: Nope.
softie: ok, then you'll buy from me for 250 cash?
me: ok sure (sets time and place)

Next day, i sms him again.

me: so are we meeting again. Today right?
softie: yes.
me: ok, i got 250 in hand.
softie: no its not 250. its 290.
me: what!?
softie: I've never wanted to sell it for 250, you know i bought from malcom at 350, and bla bla bla long story.
me: look dude, you smsed me 250, and i still got the sms. I'll forward it to you.
softie: yeah but i'll be losing money.
me: as if thats my problem! if you don wanna sell at this price, den don quote me that price. simple logic aye!

luckily i smsed him earlier before meeting up with him, if not i would have made a wasted trip. Just one example of how sellers can be real asses also.....if you don wanna sell at this price....don quote to buyer...simple enough right?

hey aaronsofat,

i dealt with Melin before. Got a sparkle drive from him. But when i brought it back, i realised the footswitch was having mood swings, like intermittently not work. so contacted Melin within the week to ask if he experienced it too. He said "no" too, like to your case.

But when i probed further and explained my situation, he acknowledged that it might have been an overlook on his part due to lack of usage of the pedal for a long time. So we agreed on my sourcing for a repair budget and quoting him the price. went to TY got it fixed and he shot me the money to my account that very week.

Understand ur disappointment in the pedal, cos its not a cheap pedal. Not taking sides too, but jus stating that from my exp with Melin, he was willing to come upfront with it and settle the repair costs without any hassle. Pedal works fine till today.

Hope you two can work it out man.

Cheers
Matt

p.s. btw, not very nice to whack someones religion cos of a misunderstanding man. Chill a bit ar

huh? i never insulted religion. sorry if i did. I would never insult a religion, if I did, I probably wasn't in the right frame of mind.

no la not you. just the few comments by others on his "God bless you" tagline.

anyway, go clear up with him again ar. call if necessary so can once and for all settle. i did that the last time

Hi Aaron,

To set the record straight, I do not sell faulty pedals to any sellers, and even if it is faulty, I will get it repaired or pay for the repair with a few days of purchase. I think this is fair for both seller and buyer.

If you are pissed with my reply to you, then I have to say that I am also pissed with a seller coming back to me to ask for a refund after a period of time. I guess for any seller out there, if a buyer comes back to you after a period of time to ask for a refund, it will probably be ignored or a straight no. Like what Matt1506 mentioned, I am more than glad to rectify the problem at least within a week, but not entertaining a refund after a period of time. Perhapes, my choice of words on reply to you may not be the best choice of words, but that would be better than "To the mother loving son of a father who sold me this expensive paper weight, I hope you don't con anyone else". On the light side, I have to say, I admire your choice of words, but on the actual interpretation of your intention of that sentence, I do not think it is very nice.

Hope this clears up. Thanks.

Well, okay. Hate breeds hate and I shall end it there. I'm sorry for appearing insulting, I was angry. However, to clear things up, the reason why I took so long to get back to you about the pedal was because I really wasn't very certain about compressors and wanted to get a rock solid backing that the pedal was faulty and that it's faulty not because of something I have done. That said, I still cannot really trust you in saying that the pedal wasn't faulty as I know I didn't mistreat it, however, you may not have realised that it was faulty and of course, me, taking so long to get back to you seemed rather suspicious. I'm normally quite a pleasant buyer (I think). Never really scolded or flamed any seller before even though one guy was late by two hours. You were really a good seller, on time, friendly and brought a pedal in perfect physical condition. Hope we can get past this obstacle and hope that I can be a friend even though what I've done here is quite stupid and childish, I apologise, I was angry, now I'm cooled off. So I'm asking you as a fellow softie, is there anything you could do to help me? I have a compressor pedal that doesn't compress which distorts the sound of any input.

nice aaron. thats the spirit

Aaron, just fix the pedal....no point crying over spilled milk. Just pm Goose.....I'm sure he'll get your pedal up and running in a hurry.

your only recourse of action now is just these things:

1) Sell the pedal at a loss cos pedal is spoilt
2) Fix the pedal and enjoy
3) Don fix the pedal and use as expensive paperweight.

My 0.000002.

How to you lovelovelovelovelovelovelove sell a spoilt pedal? If that happens I can predict a thread called "What's happening to the world? (2)" will appear...

Hydrofly; This would all not have happened if people just adopt my policy of no test, no buy.

same here bro but mine would be no test no sell to prevent all the hoo-hah and the trip to space n back for nuthin
