effect loop on amp is a loop between preamp and poweramp. Lotsa info via google will see mentioning of putting modulation pedals in the effect loop. If wanna more info on it, do a search on google for effect loop

the effect loop pedal is a signal router for guitar signal. Similar to what some call A/B box.
