where can i get good deals for OLP basses
and any particular model with good performance-price ratio?
I've been playing bass for about 2 years now, and i'm still using the starter kit i bought at davis guitar in peninsulla, it's 4 string, the body comes in a variety of colours and so far hasnt gave me any problems. The brand is SX, i know many beginner bassists whom use it. Cost at 250 bucks including guitar bag, tuner, amplifier and the bass guitar itself. Used it for a couple of performances already.

i'm not trying to be a boutique bass snob or anything like that,
but i feel that when u are buying an entry level bass, you have to try the particular bass you buy. while it's not true that entry level basses are all crap, it's true that their quality fluctuates for whatever reason. and for this reason i tend to go for small and little-known brands. my logic is that smaller scale of production = less inconsistencies

wad about the ibanez starter bass?
the quality is good...although mine has some buzzing problems, i still use it today, bought in 2006...

i just a got sx jazz at davis a few months ago dispite having a LTD. its around 250 if im not wrong and as good as a squire which my friend has. comes which a 15 wtt amp and a gig bag. the gig bag offers no protection at all, i used it a few times and theres a hole in the bag already.
