What're used Mesa prices like in sg?

I'm probably going to pick up a DC-5 or something else back home after I grad if I can't find a way to transport mine back - can't even post the damn thing, probably, because it weighs like 35 kg. Any idea if they're common at all on the used market or how much they go for used? Or Mark IVs, for that matter? Thanks!

I got mine for 550 canadian here, which was a pretty good deal.

the singapore dealer's in Malaysia man. and its MARKED UP like mad!!.... they pop up on the forums once in awhile though

USED price? Then forget about the dealer in our neighbour country.

Extant, there's a used Rectoverb 50 at blackwood guitars, about 2.3k sgd. Something you can consider. But may sound different from your dyno-watted, dual caliber DC-5. Pay them a visit when you are back here. Other than this, you may wanna hang around this forum, and see any of the Mesa will pop up, times from times.

Another suggestion here - sell your combo, get a head and bring it back here. There's also a mesa 2x12 cab available from blackwood. Checking-in a head would not be a problem huh?

Yeah... The Mesa prices from dealers in our region are really at crazy prices! Maybe u might wanna get it from Canada and bring it back which would still be cheaper.

Very seldom see Mesa in SG. I saw less than 10 (more like 5) rectifiers for sale over the last few years in Soft.

Side note though, I just bought a Mesa Lonestar Classic for CAD$1300. Sweet amp.

But like what Ripper said, sell the combo and get a head. Or else try surface shipment. Which part of Canada you're in btw?

Ouch. I'm thinking probably might have to get a road case (Angstrom Cases is in canada and I hear they make great ones, so not really a huge problem) and maybe see if I can check it as extra baggage. I know cathay pacific's kinda anal about size restrictions, but it excludes 'musical instruments' and an amp is totally a musical instrument, right? :P

A head might be a good idea too, I guess. I'm just more used to comboes - the thing I like about the DC-5 is that it isn't too pricey, has great heavy gain sounds and AWESOME cleans. I really want a Mark IV, but they cost megabucks.

I'm in Hamilton, ON by the way - going to McMaster. Crappy industrial city.

I don't know about it, but I'm not sure you could even check in the DC5 since now the check in weight is like 23kg per luggage, max 32 kg for 2. That's for SQ though. I'm not too sure what's it like for Cathay.

Surface freight is the way. Get a nice ATA case, surface ship the thing with some of the items that you may wanna bring back to SG too. The most you wait 2 months. Dont try with airlines. Getting stuck at the checkpoint with one bloody heavy amp is not something fun.

Good luck with you on bringing it home man!

Alright, thanks for the info guys. BTW are there any Orange dealers in SG, and what're the prices like for those too?

Orange no worry man. Got Valencia brand, sunkists brand, all very sweet and nice! 4 for $1.30!

Haha, go Yamaha Plaza Sing. Price quite reasonable. Year end discount even better.

Kudos to Ripper, for a moment I thought I was looking at a "What's the best orange brand" thread.

Actually you can try Blackwood, seriously if you need any amp or guitar just look for them. They might not have stock on hand but with ample time, they'll get it at an affordable price. Yamaha is only worth it during the sales if not it's rather ridiculous pricing.

Yeah I was looking online - people selling used Rockerverb 50s here for like 3k sing? Ow. It sounds like everything's generally more expensive back home.

I found a guy on the Boogie Board who makes headshells so I'll see if I can get him to make one for my combo and just reinstall the chassis in it. Should be easier to carry that way.

Going to need to find good cabs back home tho.
