Hi people,

My Qn: What type of guitar polish brands is suitable for Nitrocellulose Finishes?

I heard some says Dunlop 65 is alright but some say it will destroy the finish. I have a Vintage Gibson, and I have no idea what kind of polish is suitable, shine and will not harm my darling.

Appreciate your kind recommendations. :D

Thanks.

I use Gibson's pump polish and Virtuoso.
Both works fine on my Gibson, but usually a little bit goes a long way.

using dunlop 65 as well, last few pumps left :)

for some serious wipe downs, i'm using:

polish+fluid.jpg

the primary reason being- it removes light scratches :)

Thank you guys for your kind inputs!

Will the Turtle brand be too strong for the nitro finishes, as in a long run of few years span?

I asked the guy from Davis Guitar if Dunlop 65 is alright for Nitrocellulose but he said it might harm the body, so anyone have negative experience with Dunlop 65 product on Nitro finishes?

I will definitely try out the Virtuoso, any recommendations where I can buy it ?

Thanks in advance! :)

Was also wondering which polish to use for restoring the shine on my Explorer. There are some dull spots on the nitro finish and light scratches as well. Turtle Wax?? Seriously??

Trust Sub for this - best solution for scratch and swirl - period!!! Been there, done that, though not with the same brands. Best result using a polishing foam on a electric drill.
