What is a good amp for a budget of $200

I am buying a new amp but is still indecisive.

I play metal and needs an amp that "eats" pedals well. Looking for one with a good clean tone too for clean riffs from songs like bat country and master of puppets (if you know wat I mean)

thanks in advance!

A solid-state Laney / Randall or similar. My Laney HCM30 clean channel took pedals extremely well and was my main practice / home-recording amp for years. You can find equivalent 30-watt models going for about $150 on the classifieds quite regularly.

^ Agreed. Randall amps would be good. Look for Peavey amps as well. However, stay away from modeling amps like Line 6 since you intend to get an amp which takes pedals well.

I think the LX is the newer series that replaced the HCM and has more or less the same features, but I don't know if the sound remained the same.
