im considering all my options now. The music styles i play differ alot.

I play : Blues, some rock, seldom punk(i hate punk), Christian rock, P&W, Alternative rock, Progressive rock, Melodious Instrumentals.

Some artists would be: EJ, JM, EC, Hillsong, Planetshakers, Creed, Alter Bridge, Lifehouse, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Some Vai, Dishwalla, Coldplay, Kutless

PAF Pros would suit you very well... They're so well rounded, they lack a signature tone, and can be pretty much moulded...

the phat cat's are nice, I have to agree w Sub on that. =) Never tried it on a strat, but it sure made an epi LP sound sweet.

Phat Cats...was gassing for one sometime back..seein it again makes me gas for it again  Got a JB in my bridge..thnking of putting a phat cat in the neck..

Can we have another option?

Mix (specify)

Im using a HAS-Sound Viper and a Dimarzio Breed Neck. Thinking of changing the Breed to Air Norton when I have the money though.

umm, lets see, these are whats in the bridge position of my guitars.

Gibson Super Humbucking (yes actual name from 70s designed by Bill Lawrence, some say pre-cursor to the Dirty Fingers)
Gibson HB-R (some 80s model also by Bill Lawrence)
Gibson '57 Classic
Gibson Tony Iommi
EMG81
EMG85
SD JB

the only other humbucker in a neck position is a EMG60A paired with the 85.

quote midnight: i see that this is a very dimarzio bias poll

it's OK, really, because people are choosing 'others' :toimonster:

hmm my edwards explorer is armed with the Sd 59 in neck and JB in bridge.

i'd say for hard rock. The pups do a great job. for metal. I'd play with the JB. which is pretty solid. But i'd like to think that. for extreme gain stuff. i believe the emg actives are the bomb. haha

Cleans on the 59 is really impressive imo. quite surprising for me. ha. has a classic tone to it.

BUT BUT

Of course the amp plays a really really crucial role in shaping tone. equalization too! so yeahh. Ive played thru a marshall half stack, peavey bandit, ibanez half stack and marshall mg15. and i'd dare say all brings out something different in the pups! yeap

ok.. i posted in a different section..
but anyways..
i've noticed people like to place seymour duncan SH-1 and SH-5s on their faded g-400s..
im curious on how it sounds and compares to stock pickups..
