how are you doing?

as a neutral party, i would like to give some of my humble comments...

i have been a visitor for a bit of time here...and while i think u have been doing well, u have however, once in a while, let your personal feelings got in the way of your professional goal.

i am definitely not an astroninja fan, nor in line with those kids who have all the time in this world to rant nonsense...

however i think you also have to remind yourself that it is these "kids" (who do nothing but ranting nonsense) who r contributing to the main bulk of the number of hits, which helps to bring your website this great success as of today. without them you will not be enjoying all the current advertising revenue that you are getting now

as of now, i think you will still need these kids to help your "business" to grow, so you should not be thinking like a chieftain

if all these ninja-supporters, james-hater, or whatever start to sync themselves to boycott you, turn their attention elsewhere, that's it

and for us neutral parties, we'll just go where the wind blows, probably by then soft can call it a day

of cos if you don't like what you see, you can always delete it, you're the chief aren't you?

I think for the bulk of us , as long as we post what is acceptable and not court any controversies, I don't see the reason why James should target us. Even if he does delete any of my post which he might deem inappropriate, I wouldn't bother anyway. Its just the bloody internet. If people don't like it here, just move on. That applies to me too.

And we also forget he runs this site almost single handedly. We create threads, profits from the buy/sell section, but we never contribute any donation, he has to rely mostly on advertisements. I don't think he's doing that well.

We've known Wayne for a long while now though it was only recently that he got to know us through several recording sessions at Snakeweed Studios. We've always been inspired by The Suns' escapades overseas Down Under and have also always regarded his dedication toward his craft a thing to strive toward. His experience and patience with us when recording, his advice and valuable lessons, and his obvious devotion toward the development of the local original music scene in Singapore will always remain with us though it was tragic that he was unable to physically, and it is up to us to carry on with the work he started to do justice to one of the greatest musicians Singapore has ever had the privilege to have. We will miss you, Wayne, but we thank God we got to know you at all, though briefly.

For someone who claims to support local music
to remove an entire thread for personal reasons, despite the thread being a healthy constructive argument about the merits and demerits of promoting overseas (Anyone who read the thread should know this to be true)
It seems you have positioned yourself as a chief of sorts indeed.
And I'm sorry but anyone who thinks that way and would let his personal emotions get in the way of his judgment..

James is doing his best to make this forum a happy place. but not everyone in here is good or maybe just arrogant on the net. Many are in inappropriate behavior, thus have to be banned or post deleted.

This is the net. Forget it lah. I think its too much publicity stunt from their show ytd. Vulgarities , talking bout mum's and sister... abit too much and childish.

Apart from that, they should minimize their Vulgarities. As Live And Loaded has their own terms and conditions. Same goes when performing at esplanade or outdoor areas.

What if someone from the forces or government heard those words....

Thanks for your comment. SOFT's primary objective is to promote music making. SOFT also believe that we can do something to make the world a nicer place.

i am not siding anyone here. But i feel we should respect James here, countless good bands find their members here and of course we can find some S holds here also. Whatever it is,be cool and relax and dont threaten people or throw insult.There are always more solutions to a problem than you can think of.

From what i've read so far,i feel Dong is an okay guy, not too sure about levan though.
I don't think all softies wanna shift their music needs to another place example,standardvalue.com yet. It may take a few years.

In defense of Levan-

Anyone who has seen his responses on SOFT knows that he's usually constructive. He does not attack without a proper, balanced counterargument. He applauds when people need to be applauded for their incredible work too (Because there are many) He is outspoken, and always will be.

And here is one more thing to consider- If selling 10k albums has really gotten to Astroninja's heads, would they even be posting on SOFT and engaging in active BUT constructive debates with naysayers? And typing super long paragraphs to try to help other bands sell their albums in new unexplored ways?

If they were truly smug son of a bitches, they wouldn't have even taken a minute of our time to do so. Because they'd be too busy trying to kiss their own asses!

Of course none of that matters now because James deleted the thread, on grounds that were and will never be disclosed apart from 'Levan was previously banned' Despite the thread being equally about helping local bands overseas and it generating valuable opinions from the SOFTies here, it doesn't matter.

Think about it. And don't accept things at face value only.
