Thanks for your comment. SOFT's primary objective is to promote music making. SOFT also believe that we can do something to make the world a nicer place.

banning an angry kid will result in him barging in angrier, it makes your world messier, like this, not nicer

you can't keep a banned person away from this forum unless it only accepts authorized members, kids these days are 100 times smarter than that of our era

As you know, we are gathering a bunch of different people (not just our friends but people from all walks of life) to start a new online project and website that expands outwards from the ideas of SOFT and for the greater benefit of the local scene.

However, in order to reach out to as many brains as possible and as many talented people as possible, we needed something to suss out the 'thinkers' from the 'feelers' - those who think with their heads and generate ideas from there, and those who respond emotionally without constructive thoughts for the bigger picture.

And what separates the thinkers from the feelers the quickest way?

Controversy. Public reaction. And an outcry.

If you really think about it, the whole comment made was intentionally left incomplete. "Your mum was good but your sister was better" -- is a thought that is automatically assumed to suggest sex, but technically, it could mean anything from cooking to knitting! But that's just breaking down the specifics

The comment was made simply to generate this thread that you see here, and to guide the thread in a way that revealed the thinkers from the feelers. There are posters within that thread who are in on it as well.

And when the thinkers (like you!) have been sussed out, we ask them for their opinions on how to create a bigger, better, and more improved site that benefits all aspects of the scene, build on the foundations of intellect to hold it together.

We build it on intellect in order to separate ourselves with one clear goal. --- For the new batch of moderators and people governing this site to always moderate based not on emotions (I.e. James) but on keeping the greater goal in mind.

For example, James would naturally ban a band vs band thread for fear that it would generate nastiness. But on the flip side, an open honest debate will actually generate feedback that will inspire / anger these bands to improve on their musicianship.

That competitive edge will be turned from destructive into constructive, and as a whole, the scene will be filled with rivalry, but it is this rivalry that also inspires the bands to improve.

That's just an example anyway

So take a step back and see how the thread is flowing, and the various comments from the people who are intentionally making people react in a certain way for or against me. In the end, it really isn't about me at all! Though it may seem so, but what seems to be something between James and me is actually, intentionally, overblown.

James doesn't know this of course, and I doubt he would think as far as this.

But anyway, I'm messaging you now because I think for the longest time, you've been a totally awesome poster on SOFT. You've always been balanced and constructive with your opinions!

We're currently planning out new sections for the new site, and we'd welcome your suggestions!
It won't be just a forum or anything, but also, a gadget review section, video streaming, band interviews with Q&A, album and gig reviews all rolled into one.

With such a massive project at hand, we needed to suss out the brains in SOFT. Thus, the whole controversy thing. Because like it or hate it, controversy generates opinions, and opinions are what REALLY matter in building up new ideas and foundations

So if you have any ideas, please write back! It can be anything at all and it'll be welcomed. Do you want more band interviews? Or maybe guitar lessons online from fellow musicians? How about Weekly Features from contributing writers? Guides on How To plasted on the front page?

Whatever you wish the scene and a site had more of, we will try to implement it if it's financially feasible (Cause this is gonna cost us a bomb)

We'd love for you to come to some of the meetings too! It'll be attended by people from all walks of life with different expertise in different areas.

Combine all these together, and we'll try and create a site that truly embraces and enhances the local music culture

On my opinion,it sounds like self justification and bullshizer if only if this project does not happen but if it does I believe it would do great for the music scene in Singapore,small tho it is now.I think it will give a new different approach and perspective rather than have one dominated in the scene.Not saying that soft or James is bad but its best to have many opinions and the fun of it is to sift thru it and figure wats credible or rubbish.

What happens to audioreload? i feel that despicable low class entertainer Levan has nothing constructive for us, he is only trying to get back at James being the only vibrant biggest music website owner for his own childish reasons and growing anger. I am sure thoughtful members of soft can see what is his main objective afterall. Sugar-coating it with freedom of opinions aint gonna work,pal. Try something else.

i can totally understand why u are saying that, if you happen to be a 14 year old levan fanboy. It is forgivable,really.

if you really want to help levan and be supportive of him , post something useful and sensible.

i used to enjoyed levan's music and gave him respect for the things he had done. Sorry , but i can't accept the fact that i could have been in levan's gig standing beside a prick like you(CAVEvents).

It seems that not only the frontman is causing some major bad rep for the band, even his supporters are contributing to it. I really thought that the James and Levan saga could have a decent ending to it and i don't really care who's in the wrong anyway, if theres a problem just resolve it in a mutual manner. but i guess theres no fairytale endings to it( they all lived happily ever after).

All i can say is, PUI! even the word despise is an understatement for now. if there is a decent explaination of levan's and his supporter's action , please voice out. stop behaving like ROBIN HOOD and act like its always for the greater good of the scene or some other reason.
