I believe that the brand is suppose to be Ernie Ball Musicman, Ernie didn't start the musicman company, it was another of Leo Fender's legacy. However most people refer to the brand just as musicman. Ernie Ball does also manufacture guitar strings and volume pedals etc under the brand Ernie Ball.

OLP is official licenced product. They are manufactured in China through an official licensing agreement. At this stage they are making copies of musicman guitars although at the eagles concert I did see the replacement guitarist for Don Felder playing a double neck "musicman guitar" and as far as I know OLP only make this and not musicman, although I could be wrong. OLP are also making guitars other than musicman guitars under license too.
Anyway that’s pretty much how I remember it.

If you are still looking, I would be checking out Luther's online second hand site, and going into guitar77.
Lots of people are in the position of having to order guitars without having the chance to play them. I bought a Gibson cs336. My wife got this for me when she was in the US, but the point is that I had never played one or even seen one. Lucky for me I quite like the guitar, but a lot of players end up selling good guitars that they bought or ordered and found the guitar didn’t suit them. At a budget of 2.3 you may have the possibility of picking up a near new guitar worth well over 3k. And, if you already have a guitar, you can take your time and wait for something really good to come up.
Of course I wouldn't try to talk you out of a musicman either but just something else to think about.
