2.3k budget is gd enuf to get you a music man shilouette (3mth wait ) btw.

Warm? Thick? PRS.

Or lespauls. Tokai will be nice. "Love rock" as a gift. Lol.

or.. gibsons? mmm.. serious i think PRS makes a good gift. very classy eh haha.

lais eyes on those PRS at davis, but they cost 4k plus unfortunately... another thing would be telecasters... gibsons??? having thoughts about them lately... need something artistic...

serious. sometimes i will stare at my lp and not play it. lol for like 5 to 10 mins. really nice to see lah haha.. on my stand =D~

oh well. serious, got cheaper PRS, try PRS SE? i mean high budget but u can maybe decorate it? as a gift mah. same case when u buying gift for gf.

mmm say PRS SE, then with a nice hardcase... then witht his nice strap inside, with 5 packets of DR Red strings, change one pack 1st, then red PRS SE + RED STRINGS. damn killer \m/

wahahaha. eh k la serious, gibsons man. lol

btw,you can go for custom guitar, since ur budget is 2.3k,im sure u will get everything that you want

thats dumb, you've only heard it,but did you go and ask for yourself?i can get fender custom for 1.6k,u must know where to get the parts...2.6k is enuff to make a very good 1

i agree with stars,better wait for sweelee's sale =)

u may call me dumb. but u cant even get an american strat for 1.6k. only price u can get is 2.2k. lemme speak for u since u cant speak for urself. i think u mean a custom strat not a custom fender. get ur info rite first b4 u rail at others. i noe my stuff. sure u can 'custom' a strat but hell its just like buying stock parts and putting them together. i wouldnt consider tt a custom. wanna talk abt custom den ill refer u to the custom 8 string bass that fretless6 has commisioned GIM guitars to do for him. well well well.

first thing first,i never say that you can get american strat for 1.6k...
second,i can speak for myself, dun talk as if you're the only one that can speak for yourself in this world
third, lets say i make a guitar from crappy material, assemble and put in my own specification, what im doing is CUSTOMISING the guitar...so when the guitar is ready, its a CUSTOM guitar, no matter how CRAP it is,do you understand that?or you have other definition of CUSTOM?
fourth,fretless6 made a custom 8 string,so what's the big deal?
fifth,i think you should check the dictionary,go find out the real meaning of CUSTOM,its doesnt mean 'EXTRA string', 'EXPENSIVE PARTS', 'HIGH END product'...its just making/producing things the way you want it to be
and the last one,u dun need big cash to get a custom,1.6k-2.5k is enuff...as long as you know the right contact,it will allow you to get the parts with cheaper price yet good quality...min 3k for custom?haha,my arse...

ok guys chill man ..

a fender custom shop--- "the" custom fender guitar is at least 3-5k if im not mistaken.

for a independent builder to build a fully custom guitar.. will be at least 3k. as it is built to specs... fender builds guitars and parts by the thousands... they have economis of scale thus the cheaper production price compared with custom shops.

You can buy the parts and build it yourself ... or get GC to assemble for you.. etc.. and it will be relatively cheaper compared to buying off the shelf , also its exactly what you want on a guitar. That is why music man is better in the sense that its stull a under 3k guitar.. and you can choose the specs.. best value for money for a american guitar
