what guitar ta buy fer a budget of $2.3k

haha, well with that budget, i'd go for tokai les pauls, they cost abt 1.5k average arnd ther i think, then get a good amp and effects. prob get a peavey bandit with the remaining cash. either that or i'd just get a gd fender US strat. anyways, just out of curiosty, y the prejudice?

haha, i have a phobia of flyod roses and i dont like the tone... the too much treble without bass sound...

even if you buy expensive made guitar, but if you play rubbish, its still rubbish that comes out from the guitar.Any brands that is made in japan, usa or korea is ok.Concentrate more on your playing, tone and sound rather than buying overprice guitar.

bass or treble or middle etc is how you set your tone or what pick ups you use.Pick ups have tone characteristics too.Basswood body should have more Bass and a bit of treble but less middle.Check your ears....

ive used JEM,American Strat, gibson and jackson guitars, and it doesnt make much difference in tone or sound.....Its mainly the racks, effects, speakers etc that make a great difference. So i sold all my expensive guitar and buy a normal Ibanez RGs made in japan and i change the pick ups and i still can get the same sound like my expensive guitars

eh really meh. i tot basswood is more of the "equal" one, like treble and bass ard the same..

mahogany have more bass than treble? =/

ya i think you are right...yes mahogany is more bassy and has that percussive sound.mahogany is good for accoustic guitar.Basswood is more harsh and suitable for rock. But guitar body plays only 5-10% of overall guitar tones and sound

its the pick up that acts like a microphone to the strings not the body of the guitar.Unless you are talking about accoustic guitar.Maybe the vibration of the strings of electric guitar on the body might effect a bit to the sound

mahogany...but it also depend on what amp, effects you used.By the way, most of the tones and sound can be shaped using effects and amp

hmm why don't u consider what type of parts that should be on ur guitar first. for example, i prefer my guitar neck to be maple fretboard. etc.

that way the other softies can direct u to a narrower range of guitars that u will more possibly prefer. 8)

agree with thor, and i do like maple fingerboard too! haha...

well..traditionally, strats can have the 'fat' and thick, warm sound, and if you're buying it as a gift, i'd recommend u buy the anniversary series, a little bit more meaningful...but hey...try the guitar first ya? then you compare.

or maybe try getting a carvin...but the waiting time...hehe...
