What guitar should I get for playing blues and metal?

Hahaha... yea true.. i guess carrying the M16 'wasn't meant' to be comfortable in the first place...

kena forced to carry one..

whereas a guitar is something u should feel comfortable carrying and holding it

actually whether a weapon is comfortable to hold is not as important as it is to kill
just as
whether a guitar is comfortable to hold is not as important it is to produce sound

i think the SAR21 is quite comfortable :)

i dunno about that bro..

i mean if a guitar sounds real good... but if the player isn't comfortable holding and carrying it... the feel is not there, he gets tired, plays sloppily etc. it's not gonna sound all the fantastic in the end too ain't it? :?

Havent touched the SAR21 yet..

On the other hand... you guys gotta understand... how long do you have to carry a guitar? A 45 minute set? 2 hrs? Every day? Or once a month? Do you have to stand & play @ home when practicing? Stand when jamming right? Again, how long?

While comfort is a good thing, we also gotta take into consideration how big a factor that will be in Singapore for the lay guitarist.

If the instrument truely sounds like a beast but is as heavy as one, then, why not? Sure, its not perfect but its always good that studio recordings or short gigs/jams or something...

I prefer light guitars though. :)

so in the end it still comes down to personal preference ma... lol

that's y ask him go down and test first

always the best solution

However, if you cite Maiden as an influence, I'd say that the Les Paul would satisfy you, but bear in mind the kind of LP variants out there...

i thot all 3 iron maiden guitarists use strats?

blues n metal? juz get BB king lucille..change the bridge pickup to EMG..then use neck pickup for blues, bridge pickup for metal..perfect!

Hmm.

Unless I'm much mistaken in their earlier days they used LPs. But yes, according to recent pictures they all use strats (due to a need to reduce the stress on their spines perhaps?)

They've used a wide variety of guitars, including ESP's, Gibsons, strats, etc. Dave Murray prefers strats with seymour duncan hot rails and JB's. Adrian Smith has used Jacksons, Deans, an Ibanez destroyer, Gibson SG, explorers, etc.
