Hi S.O.F.T.ies,I'm looking to get myself an electric guitar with amps this holiday.
I want to play mostly pop-punk sound(1990-early 2000s' Green Day,Blink-182) and I think I'm looking for a Strat here.I want to know what kind of wood I should be looking for, what kind of pick-ups.I will be playing mostly in my room in a 5-room HDB flat,so I don't want AMPs that are too loud that will disturb my neighbours. However,I also want AMPs that will be able to go loud enough for public gigs, let's say in a school hall?
Having done abit of research,I've based my requirements on the Tom DeLonge Strat that was released some years ago.

Pickguard: 1-Ply
Pickups: 1 Duncan Designed Detonator Humbucker (Bridge)
Pickup Switching: None
Controls: Volume
Strings: Fender Super 250L's (.009 to .042) Nickel Plated Steel p/n 073-0250-003

This is what Tom DeLonge has been using for early Blink-182 material, which I hope to recreate.I can't find any specs for Green Day's Billie Joe's guitar,Blue, but his sound is another I would like to try and recreate. So,all in all,I think I want to find equipments that can reproduce the sound from early Green Day and Blink-182,pop-punk sounds.I welcome all recommendations on electric guitars and amps,if possible, even more "detailed-ly",what kind of wood and pick-ups I should be looking for.Even better,if people can post up what EQ settings I should be going for when trying to find this sound I want to create.Thanks,S.O.F.T.ies!
Edit:Woops!Nearly forgot,I'm hoping to keep to a budget of below $500 for everything I'm looking for.I know it's quite impossible giving the specifics I've posted up.But still,I'm praying!!(PSoesn't matter if it exceeds $500...I'm just hoping to save as much as I can!)
