I Been play metallica's master of puppets but i cant seem to get the sound.
Need some advice on which pedal would give the metallica Sadistic and Sinister kinda sound. It be great if you give info on price and place of purchase. Thanks

Try Digitech Death Metal, if you tweak it properly you may get quite close to the sound. Of course, additional of other effect besides this Death Metal will make it sound perfect. That's what I use for Metallica songs.

Anyway, Digitech Death Metal can be purchase at Swee Lee, Ebenex, etc...so many places sells it.

Enjoy!!

Try scooping the mids on your present amp or pedal to begin with :D and as what subversion mentioned, james and kirk drive their amps to get their tones. Therefore, it's gonna be hard to emulate their amps with pedals.

Just get a RAT... that's what Hetfield used in early recordings.

Rat won't get you anywhere near Master of Puppets. A Metal Muff or Metal End King will get you closer to that ballpark.

metal muff from blackwood or ebenex...metal end king from standard value in woodlands ^^

both should be around the region of $160

if you got a nice solid state amp like the peavey bandit, a heavy distortion pedal into the clean channel will get you there for rhythm. Leads would be more difficult though, you probably will need to stack another overdrive.

kirk's philosophy was always a distortion into a clean amp, he mentioned it in an interview. James prefers to crank his amps and uses EQs to shape the sound.
