Watch and rate for me in dean shred contest!

Bro, when you post a video online, there are bound to have criticism and opinions. It is good that you accepted the comments that fellow softies gave you. This is a good way to improve yourself. Remember, even the top guitarists have critics. \m/

hey man!
honestly i get your melody for the first part of the video, its like a story leading somewhere but halfway everything just got messy and lost, can really hear some influences from some band (can't rmbr who). No offence whatsoever but i think if you focused abit more on repetition based on your start you'll get a solo that tells a story :D good work btw! i wished i could play that fast when i was 17.

Thanks Karlie, your comment showed that there is light at the end of every tunnel.Btw,about the influence of my playing, did Trivium come to mind?..and don't mind me asking, how old are you?

hey man!
yeah abit of trivium came to mind, but i'm not too much of a trivium fan so i'm not entirely sure :D i'm 19 thiw year btw

Okays...hey Karlie,your band ain't half bad.Sweet,soft,bluesy and sentimental.Sweet-voiced singer by the way...

dude. ur fast man. i wanna be as fast as you. i'm 17 too. i'm givin u the respect u deserve. but yeah. like everyone said. there was nothing but speed. all the best still bro !

thanks man! :D
our vocalist (in my opinion) is insanely talented. you have any bands?

Yeah,I do.but it's kind of work-in-progress thingy.the last tym we gig was during sec4 @ innova jc and that's about it.We are currently making originals.By the way you can still check out my original I recently recorded.Just me,clean guitar and vocal,it's called In Pursuit Of Freedom @ my friendster... http://profiles.friendster.com/thereaperslair...And dude, you should add me @ msn,I find it comfortable communicating with you

Hey,thanks Jarvis :),That was quite flattering.Well, you can get that fast too. Here are some tips

1: practice on your scaling at slow speed at first

2: keep practicing on the same scale with ascending speed each time

3: Interest is the best way to improve,so it's recommended to play songs or parts of a guitar that you like.you will soon realise that they structure thier riffs in a way that makes it unique. This could be an inspiration on how you are going to construct your original riffs

4: By knowing your scales better, you are one step ahead of composing original guitar riffs...other than that,it's just practice, practice and more practice

Well, that's about it.This is how I improve, but different people have different approach on improving.Lastly, yes speed isn't everything...I just got the urge to play at turbo speed sometimes.

i just voted you a 10 on basis that you are a fellow countryman and very young at 17. it's about speed and melody, you got the speed part right, so if you focus on creating melodies you'll be a mighty fine player.

1 thing good is you obviously feel for your music, as seen from your expression and body language in the video

I sincerely thank you for seeing that potential in me and for voting a high 10 as well. And the thing about playing fast is that you get confused with hitting the right notes and the storyline of the music get obscured in the fast-paced momentum.Yup,I think it's time to give priority to melody before speed.

i suggest you learn some bending and (good)vibrato. check out beez, his licks may be repetitive but his bending and vibrato NEVER fails to impress me

i don't know if its me or what. but the tone is way too thin. well, it could be because of the poor sound quality. i could image that speed with a fatter tone. *woah!*
anyways. like the rest said. bending needs improvement. its sounds wayyy off. well, you do sound fast. but speed without control is nothing.

Okay guys...point taken.well i am no longer the only shredder,a guitarist named dong just entered recently. You guys should check him out.

Hey,

For a 17yr old, I think you will be a brilliant player if you keep practicing hard at it. You are not a bad player. just needs some touch ups on timing and phrasing on your solo's.

All the best for the comp!
Cheers!
:D
