Watch and rate for me in dean shred contest!

sry dude that was pretty bad , u should phrase u're music . it's all over the place ,speed without melody or rhythm is crap .

I admit it's a bit spontaneous. But definetely there's melody and phrasing,I mean it took a lot of vids before i could decide on this one.Maybe the sound quality is poor, which makes you see my video as crap.Since my playing is crap, will you enlighten me on a video link which shows perfect phrasing and melody.Or if you do play the guitar, you could post a link to one of your videos of a cover or anything and prove me wrong.

I sortof agree with harrisonyeo. Sorry man. Though I admit harrison coulda been more tactful. I will take part in that competition when I can feel the mood coming. Oh yes, and your picking needs work. Abit too rough on the strings IMO.

hmmz.. i think tats happens to quite alot of guitarist.. they cant accept harsh comments... lolx...

im no shredder btw... but i do agree with him tat there is no melody .... its just whacking notes on the fretboard... sorry about it bro... but tats wat i feel too... but nice try.. :)... u should do tat while giging.. lolx...

Honestly.. You have to work on your cleanliness. And your phrasing as well.

Its pretty much all over the place as well like what the rest said. Pretty messy.

No complacency here at all, just honest comments for you to improve on.

Cheers.

It needs to be able to catch the listeners' attention and watch you all the way, from start to finish.

It was definitely a turn off by the quality. No offence.

practicing with a metronome will help 10x. you can find one from powertab, guitar pro, a keyboard or amplitube 2 and so much more. practice for precision. speed will naturally come when technique is there.

one example

may not be the fastest guitarist out there but able to play like a moving metronome.

It lacks melody. I just stopped halfway listening to it.

Agreed.. Don't take this is blatant criticism, but constructive ones.. Metal places an emphasis on speed, but speed without emotion is like Jimi without weed man.. Hahaha..

And man.. The bends are insanely off.. I have to say that cause bends are the optimum tools to showing your emotion IMO..

Eric Peterson is one of the judges.. It's gonna be tough..

And there are alot of pretty good shredders in the competition..

I don't shred but that was like putting 100 notes in 1 bar and not having anything else but trying to show 100 notes in 1 bar. Speed without feel but nice try.

WAhahahahahaha.... i think he meant to post that as a joke man.... that was just hilarious. :p

Was that Herman Li?

Ok. Upfront... I'd have to say that I can't shred but I do like to listen to some melodic pieces from those who can. From the many examples of spontaneous melodic composition from some fast playing, I personally like Marty Friedman's works. Here is a link to one of his spontaneous jamming.

I agree. Marty Friedman is very melodic. I enjoy his solos when he was in Megadeth.

To take it heart bro, we are all here to support you! :D

Seems like it was unanimous that this was not a pretty good video.Well,to all who viewed and gave me their frank thoughts on it,I'd like to thank you all for your honesty. It opened my eyes that there are many things i have to work on like sound quality, pefecting my scales, proper sweeping and definetely i need to get better equipment.Futhermore my guitar has quite a small fretboard length so it's quite a challenge when scaling,...I'm just saying,it's definetely not an excuse.By the way,if you view other shredders who are more competent than me in the contest, all the more you should rate for them because I admit that I am nowhere near the best.
