Watch out for guy selling the crate blue voodoo amp (Gerald-Wow). He agreed to sell to me for his asking price and posted a sold sign on the posting which is still there. Then yesterday he posts again this time asking for bids!!. When i contact him to say we had a deal he says he want to get bids in case he can get better price, and he doesnt own the amp. Now today he has withdrawn the sale. Watch out for this con artist who agrees deals then doesn't honour his word. I still have his messages to prove he agreed and confirmed our deal.

scam

I had arranged to pick the amp up and you can see he posted that it was sold. But then he had posted again next day to try to get more money. When I questioned he said it was not even his amp and wanted to see if he can get more, and I can post a bid if i like. Again I remind him he agreed and even text me to say deal is confirmed. So luckily I did not pass him any money, otherwise who knows waht happens!!.
Not the way to do any deals on SOFT. Most softies very good to deal with, so this is NOT typical but someone who should not be a softie!!

eh, my bro has had a near-deal with him. according to him, this gerald-wow is a weird guy. and very pushy at that too. trust me, he'll soon get another nick on soft. but some ppl here still have his number, so guess he can't go far.

So he's a con artist who cheat your feelings?

Conned you of your innocence?

He's running a scam to cheat people of their feelings ah?

have the same feelings here, deal b4 with him, weird guy, but his juz a sec.skool kid....however, he's way of not sticking to confirm deals is just so..... :)

No transaction was done so its not a con job.

Just an irresponsible, no principle prick of a seller who backs out last minute. Happens all the time in this world of business dealing. Live with it.

Reminded me of how I had a similar experience when I was buying a resale flat...

If this really happens so often in the business world (and yes it does), do we really need to pinpoint our fingers at this guy?

It's not like you passed him your money and he ran away for it and asked for bids. No money was made, therefore the only thing that was cheated was

1) your feelings (just like theblueark pointed out)
2) our time in having to read through this whiny post.

deal with it. literally. as in, go find another deal then. this guy might not have kept to his word, but then again technically he owes you nothing.

welcome to the jungle

come on dude... what's the loss to you? you didn't even put a deposit down... all he did was hurt your feelings...

he got a better offer for the amp and decided to take it
if someone offered to sell you the exact same amp for a hundred dollars less would you have declined this deal and gotten the other amp instead?

i'm sure many other people would have just given gerald-wow an excuse and gone for the offer that leaves them with 100 dollars more...

even if you were to stick to this all important agreement that would involve you forking out more money for the exact same amp please look at it in perspective... he's just a secondary school student living on allowance.

I don't know how old you are, but if you're a secondary school student too i'm sure you would understand. If you're older than that... then give him a break please... why would you want to pick on some secondary school student? how old already... shouldn't be so petty what... he didn't scam you, he didn't cheat you of any money... just get over it

to ts

did he even take your money and run away?

it seems to me that he just backed out of a deal so what i mean don't people back out of deals on soft like super often??people back out from deals with me before but what can i do?he can choose who the hell he wants to sell to you carn't force him to sell it to you

people always go for higher bids i mean would you sell your guitar for $100 to some guy or $200 to another guy?if he wants people to bid then bid la

no money no buy simple as that...

so what if he did promise you???if others want to pay more for his amp then if i were him,i would do the same...

i saw his thread and it was hell cheap for a tube amp i am sure people would bid more for it....

dude as i said yesterday, the amp belongs to my bro not mine and i am sure he wants to go for higher bids....

the price stated was $300 and it was kinda cheap the demand for the amp was high i had about 5-6 people smsing me on the amp so thus i wanted to see who would pay more for the amp as i wanna get the most cash out of it...

the funny thing was that NO one had even sms me to bid on the amp yet and u were already pissed of at me...i had tried my best to explain nicely to you and you just told me off that you wanted to post what i have done on soft...so thats why i canceled the deal...anyway the amp was sold to a nice gentleman yesterday...

just to let SOFT know that i am not here to con your money, heres some of yesterday sms word for word...

cannon: so we had a confirmed deal and now you are backing out

me: ok dude chill i told you No one has bid yet and i apologise for agreeing...the demand for the amp was high and so my bro wanted ppl to bid to get the most cash out of the amp and the bottom line is that it's not mine...if he choose to sell it to someone higher then i am sorry u gota bid higher to get it...

cannon: ok will advise soft of scam

me: ok up to u...deal's off...
